Dewayne Beaver "Ozzie" Osborne
March 18, 1931 ~ October 4, 2003


Dewayne Beaver "Ozzie" Osborne, 72, of Tyler services are scheduled for 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel with Dr. Michael D. Dent officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mr. Osborne died Saturday, October 4th in Tyler. "Ozzie" was born in Verden, Oklahoma to the late Eunice Esther Rowe and Randolph Osborne on March 18, 1931.

He grew up in Oakland, California and attended University of San Francisco studying mechanical engineering.

He also served for three years in the United States Army Paratroopers, 11th Airborne Division making 21 jumps.

He retired after 27 years from Rockwell International in Richardson, Texas.

Mr. Osborne became a Master Mason on December 7, 1957. He furthered his Masonic affiliations by becoming a member of Tyler Lodge 1233, the Scottish Rite and York Rite bodies, Shine, Royal Order of Jesters, and Eastern Stat. In 1997 he served as President of the Henderson County Shrine Club. During that year, the club received the prestigious Galloway Calhoun award. Currently he was serving as Colonel, of the Sharon Shrine Jeep Patrol. He served as Oriental Guide and Membership Chairman of Sharon Shrine Center. Part of the Mentor Program and brought a solid background of business experience. His current positions were High Priest and Prophet and member of Director Staff.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Sue Osborne of Tyler; Children, Randy Osborne, Nita Osborne, and Brian Osborne all of Springdale, Arkansas; Grandchildren, Bruce Osborne, Heather Osborne, Amber Osborne all of Springdale, Arkansas, and Ziara Osborne of Plano; Step-children, Tom Turnbull, Leslie Scott and husband, Yale all of Houston, Texas; Step-Grandchildren, Landon and Camden Turnbull and Taylor and Alyssa Scott all of Houston.

Pallbearers are Harvey Vincent, Joe Gibbons, Gene Gay, Carl Auvil, Tommy Vallone, and Vernon Shaw. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Sharon Shrine Jeep Patrol.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M., Tuesday evening at Lloyd James Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children 3100 Samford Avenue Shreveport, LA 71103. Lloyd James Funeral Home Tyler, TX 903-597-6611
