© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma November 7, 2023 July 10, 1961 ~ October 30, 2023 The family and friends of Casey Thomas Downes, 62, of Cement, gathered at the family farm on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate his life. Casey was born July 10, 1961 in Riverside, California. He went to his Heavenly home on Monday, October 30, 2023 at his home. Casey was the baby of five children and the third son of John Gerald Downes and Chiquita [Osborne] Downes. When he was three years old, the family moved from California to the Verden area, where he grew up on the family farm. At 10 years old, he became an apprentice to his Uncle Jack Fowler, welding in Verden. He graduated from Verden High School in 1979. Casey made a 45-year career working in the oilfield, a majority of those years right along with his brother Butch. He had worked with Unit, Bronco, Nicor and Lofflan Brothers companies and he also worked for Key Energy out of El Reno. Casey was a proud member of the Delaware Nation. He played the guitar one handed, he loved classic rock music, with Ian Moore being one of his favorite artists. He enjoyed working on the farm and he loved his family. He always saw the good in people and would help anyone out if he could. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brothers Michael Joseph Downes and John Patrick "Butch" Downes, sister Cynthia Lee Bramblett, nephew Eric Patrick Graham and late spouse Kathy Marie [Willis] Downes. Loved ones left to remember him are his son Dillian Downes and wife Tiffany of Lindsay; former spouse Diana Lee of Lindsay; sister and brother-in-law Kelly and Marty Flow of Cement; his partner Tonya Seifried and son J.T. Seifried of Cement; grandchildren Trissity Downes of Lindsay, Hanna Downes of Oklahoma City, and Dyllan Drake Downes of Lindsay; nephews and nieces Shon Downes, Shane Downes and wife Jennifer, Matthew Line, Mikki Line, Jason Graham and wife Angela, Brent Downes, Kaden Seifried, Sebastian Seifried, Brooke Horn and Emily Twohatchet; and other extended family and friends.
