Benjamin Hendrix Yager
June 10, 1928 ~ March 10, 2014


Benjamin Hendrix Yager of Cyril, Oklahoma was born June 10, 1928 in Cyril to Leonard Benjamin and Eula Inez [Knight] Yager. He passed away March 10th in Chickasha at the age of 85.

He went to work when he was 16 for the Apco Filling station.

He graduated from Cyril High School and continued working for Apco for 43 years as an oil refinery operator.

He married Helen Ann Wright on October 23, 1948 in Wichita Falls, TX. She preceded him in death February 18, 2002.

Ben was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Cyril. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed sports, hunting and fishing. He liked to play dominoes.

He loved his family and as his grandchildren and great grandchildren grew, he would go to their games and cheer them on.

He is survived by: His beloved companion, Pistol; 1 son and his wife-Richard and Sara Sue Yager of Yukon, OK; 3 daughters and their husbands-Jayne and Kent Ivy of Apache, OK; Tomi Yager and Joe Sylvester of Cyril, OK; Tami and Mitchell Wilson of Cyril, OK; 8 grandchildren-Layne Yager,Shannon King, Micah Mindemann, Cara Mindemann, Zane Ivy, Page Presgrove, Justin Sylvester, Jayson Wilson, Kirah Wilson, Kody Wilson; 19 great-grandchildren-Kaiser King, Aras King, Maximus King, Chad Wollenberg, Brooklyn Corr, Logan Lee, Triton Ivy, Trell Ivy, Tucker Presgrove, Joey Sylvester, Taylor Sylvester, Matthew Sylvester, Hayley Sylvester, Reese Sylvester, Kayden Wilson, Kase Wilson, Kyanna Wilson, Katlynn Wilson, Kyler Wilson; 1 great great grandchild-Reid Wollenberg.

He was preceded in death by: His parents; His wife, Helen Yager; His grandson, Ben Sylvester; His brother, Len Yager.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March12th at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Cyril with Rev. Rick Endicott officiating and assisted by Rev. Laurie Stinnett.

Burial will follow at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

May 15, 1930 ~ February 18, 2002


Funeral service for Helen Ann Wright Yager, 71, of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in Cyril United Methodist Church.

Rev. Bill Long will officiate, and Rev. Travis Wollenberg will assist.

Helen Ann [Wright] Yager was born May 15, 1930, in Enid, Oklahoma, and died on Monday Feb. 18, 2002, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Burial will be in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McRay's Cyril Funeral Home.
