Brownie Mae [Thompson] Williams

Funeral service for Brownie Mae Williams, age 90, of Cyril, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2004, at Cyril Church of Christ. Paul Jackson will officiate, and Wendell Whitman will assist.

Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Christian Care Retirement Village in Chickasha, after a lengthy illness.

Burial will be in Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under the direction of MyRay's Cyril Funeral Home.

Edna Lorene [Cannon] Williams

Funeral service for Edna Lorene Williams, age 90, of Cyril will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at the Full Gospel Church in Cyril.

Lorene was born the daughter of Harvey A. Cannon and Rebecca Ann Cribbs Cannon on December 11, 1916, in Hartford, Arkansas. She died on December 28, 2006, in Chickasha.

Burial will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home.

Helen G. [Pelzer] Williams

WALTERS ~ Funeral for Helen G. Williams, 78, Walters, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Binyon-Cyril Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Adams officiating.

Mrs. Williams died Sunday in Walters.

Burial will be in Celestial Gardens Cemetery.

She was born May 3, 1920, in Verden, to Ernest and Laura Edwards Pelzer. She moved to Cyril, where she attended school. She attended Okmulgee Technical School, where she received training as a dietitian. She was employed by Oklahoma State University for 17 years. She retired in 1984, and returned to Cyril. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Pat Tolliver, Walters; and Geneva Burnett, Cyril; a sister, Ila Scoggins, Cyril; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Don Ray Williams

CYRIL Funeral for Don Ray Williams, 75, Cyril, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Cyril High School Auditorium.

He died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012.

Burial will be in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under direction of McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.

Don was born Sept. 22, 1937, in Cyril, where he attended 12 years of public school and graduated from Cyril High School in 1955. He graduated from Abilene Christian University with a bachelor's degree in 1959 and a master's degree in 1974. He worked full-time with Northwest Church in Oklahoma City 1960-63, West Berry Church in Fort Worth, Texas 1963-65, and Broadway Church in Lubbock 1965-71. Don was the second full-time youth minister in Churches of Christ in 1965. He began the Youth Ministers' Seminar in 1967.

He worked full-time with Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., for 21 years 1971-92, and Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, for 10 years (992-2002. He was a university teacher for 23 of the years. Don has spoken on the campuses of 13 colleges and universities. For many of the years as a California resident, he not only taught, but averaged flying almost 100,000 miles per year to speak on weekends in 20 different states. His speaking had taken him to all but two of the United States. He spoke to youth rallies, singles seminars, high school assemblies, leadership conferences, administration workshops and commencements. He was a featured speaker for the Texas State Future Homemakers Convention, the University of Southern California Leadership Conference and the University of California-Santa Barbara Leadership Conference. He was honored as "Youth Minister of the Year" in October 1969, by Lubbock Christian University. He was honored with the 1969 Lubbock Future Homemakers of America Award for inspirational service to the organization. He received the 1971 Lubbock Classroom Teachers Association "Friend Of Education" Award which is given to the person who, though not engaged in public school education, contributes the most to educational goals and ideals. Don was selected by the Student Government Association as one of the outstanding teachers at Pepperdine University in 1981. He was made an honorary member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and was presented the Christian Service Award by Pepperdine University in 1991. He was honored with a Distinguished Christian Service Award from Harding University in 2005 and was honored by Abilene Christian University in 2005 as one of the 100 alumni who had done the most to change the world. Don retired in 2002 to reside in Cyril.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R. B. and Brownie Mae Williams.

Survivors include his brother and wife, Robert and Kathy Williams of Sherwood, Ark.; and nephew, David Williams, and niece, Sherri Hullett, both of Sherwood.

Riley Williams

Funeral service for Riley Williams, 61, of Cyril, was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Cyril.

Riley Williams was born on Sept. 23, 1939, in Cyril. He died on Friday, April 20, 2001, at his home in Cyril.

Burial was in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home.

Wilma Louise [Hotz] Williams

Wilma Louise Williams of Cyril, Oklahoma was born December 19, 1941 in Lookeba, OK to William "Bill" and Oleta [Martin] Hotz. She passed away at her home in Cyril on July 17, 2013.

Wilma Moved to Anadarko at the age of four and graduated from Anadarko High School.

She moved to Cyril in 1968 went to work for Hollytex in 1969, and was there for thirteen years.

She married Riley Williams on January 4, 1969 in Arnett, OK. He preceded her in death April 20, 2001. She followed the oilfield with her husband for many years before settling back in Cyril. Together, they enjoyed fishing. Wilma liked to quilt and sew. She went to the Cyril Senior Citizens Center daily. Her greatest joy was playing with her grandkids and great-grandkids.January 4, 1969 in Arnett.

She is survived by1 son and his wife, Lynn and Renee` Williams, Vjivkasha, OK. 1 daughter, Rhonda Bruer, Anadarko, OK, 4 grandchildren, Jana and husband, Nakoa Williams; Jill Bruer and her companion, Shed Euwins; Kylie Williams; Riley Williams, 2 great-grandchildren, Woodrow Williams, Cara Williams, 1 sister and her husband, Lois and Dave Prickett, Anadarko, OK.

She was preceded in death by:her parents, her husband, Riley Williams, 1 great-grandson, Bentley Bruer, 3 sisters, Betty Lopez, Bertha Lee, Jean McPherson.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 21st at 2:30 P.M. at Celestial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Randy Cocheran officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

Frances Ann "Fran" [Bibb] Williams

Frances Ann "Fran" Bibb Williams, of Oklahoma City, passed away April 19, 1995 at the age of 48, a victim of the Federal Building bombing disaster.

She was born in Oklahoma City on July 28, 1946 to Samuel Thomas and Mozelle [McKinley] Bibb. Frances had been a Secretary with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the past 8 years. She was a member of Crossroads Cathedral Church.

She is preceded in death by her father, Sam. Survivors include her mother, Mozelle Bibb; son, Matt Story & his wife, Cinammen of Oklahoma City; daughter, Dawn & her husband, Pat Mahan of Moore; brother, Wendell Potts of Tulsa, Ok; niece, Michelle Potts and nephew, Mark Potts; 3 grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Mahan and MiCayla Story.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2 , 1995, at Crossroads Cathedral Chapel, 8901 S. Shields. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Celestial Gardens in Cyril, Oklahoma.
