Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 Carl Leslie Walker Sr Funeral for Carl Leslie Walker Sr, 82, Cyril will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Cyril with Brother Travis Wollenberg and Hoby Williams officiating. Leslie stepped from this earth to Heaven Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, in Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at the Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Leslie was born June 14, 1933, in Cyril, to Virgil Thomas and Mamie Annabelle Johnson Walker. Leslie was raised in Cyril and graduated from Cyril High School. He married the love of his life, Joan Langford, July 17, 1952. Leslie and Joan made a happy home for their three sons. He was employed at the Apco Refinery for 31 years and worked as a contract pumper. Leslie's greatest joy was time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband and family man. Leslie loved his job, gardening, listening to gospel music and his cat Snuggs. Survivors include his wife, Joan Walker, of the home; three sons: Carl Leslie Walker Jr., Cyril; Dustin Kirt Walker and wife Melody, Norman; and Eric Lee Walker and wife Shannon, Cyril; a sister, Joann McClure, Cyril; nine grandchildren: Amber Hall, Kristi Walker, Amanda Yaeger and her husband Tyler, Casey Jones and his wife Caty, Teri Williams and her husband Brian, Aaron Walker, Courtney Jones, Cayla Jones and Denver Walker; seven great-grandchildren: Caiden, Bradley, Daylon, Skyler, Jacob, Claira, and Oliver; and a host of special nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Bell Walker and a brother, Thomas Leroy Walker. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Cyril. Thursday, July 27, 2017 Winnie Joan [Langford] Walker Funeral service for Winnie Joan Walker, 81, of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Cyril with Brother Travis Wollenberg and Pastor Donnie Crittendon, officiating. Burial will follow at the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Walker passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 81. Winnie Joan [Langford] Walker was born February 11, 1936 in Cement, Oklahoma to A.D. and Winnie [Remey] Langford. Joan was raised in Cement and graduated from Cement High School. She married Carl Leslie Walker Sr. on July 17, 1952. The two were married for 63 years and were blessed with 3 sons. Joan attended USAO where she obtained her teaching degree and then later went on to receive her Master's Degree in education from the University of Oklahoma. She was a third grade teacher at Cyril Elementary for 20 years. She was a member of the Cyril First Baptist Church. Joan was a wonderful woman full of Jesus's love and grace and will be missed by all those who knew her. She is survived by her 3 sons: Carl Leslie Walker Jr. of Cyril, Dustin Kirt Walker and his wife Melody of Norman, and Eric Lee Walker and his wife Shannon of Cyril; 9 grandchildren: Amber Hall, Kristi Walker, Amanda Yaeger and her husband Tyler, Casey Jones and his wife Caty, Teri Williams and her husband Brian, Aaron Walker, Courtney Jones, Cayla Jones, and Denver Walker; and 7 great grandchildren: Caiden, Bradley, Daylon, Skyler, Jacob, Claira, and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents: A.D. and Winnie Langford; her husband, Leslie Walker; and 1 sister, Norma Neal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Cyril or the Lupus Association. |
