Friday, April 28, 2014 Russell Wayne Thompson Russell Wayne Thompson of Cyril, Oklahoma was born April 26, 1951 in Chickasha, OK to Buren and Joan [Christian] Thompson. He passed away April 28th in Lawton, OK at the age of 63. After graduating from high school, Russell attended college before going to work for Oklahoma Refining Company as a Lab Tech. He also worked for Duke Energy on the pipeline. He married Becky Ackley on June 18, 1979 in Cyril, OK. After many years working in the energy field, he went to work for Cimarron Trailer Manufacturing and then the Town of Cyril as their water superintendent. He also raised cattle, and farmed near Chickasha. Russell was never too busy to help his neighbors. He lived his life by what Jesus called the two greatest commandments, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." And the second is like unto it "Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself." Russell lived these words and took loving God's people to a whole new level. He was a proud member of Calvary Temple where he served as a board member. The most important things in his life were his faith, family, and being the most amazing husband and father to his wife and kids. The world will remember Russell for his legacy of love, compassion and that big smile he always was wearing. He is survived by: His wife, Becky, of the home, 1 son and his wife, Brandon and Jordan Thompson and daughter, Madyson Cyril, 1 daughter, Brigette Thompson Cyril, His parents, Buren and Joan Thompson Cement, OK, 4 sisters and their husbands - Jeanie and Jimmy Wear Midwest City, OK, Janice and Dewayne Settle Wellston, OK, Glenda and Loyd "Buster" Chaney Cement, OK, Diana and Tim Love Cement, OK. A Funeral service will be held Friday, May 2nd at 2:00 P.M. at the Calvary Temple with Pastor Kip Ackley officiating and Reverend Dewayne Settle, assisting. Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are: Harold Rose Travis Bilyeu,Michael Settle Jonathan Ackley,Trevor Ingle Brian Black.
