January 25, 2011 June Bell [Timmons] Short June Bell Short of Cyril, Oklahoma was born June 3, 1928 in Russell, OK to M.C. and Dora Lewis Timmons. She passed away on January 25th in Lawton, OK at the age of 82. After graduating high school, she went into the St. Anthony's Nursing program in Oklahoma City and received her Registered Nurse diploma. She married Dr. L.O. Short on July 21, 1950 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death in October 1994. She worked with her husband in his medical practice while raising their family.. June enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was famous for her homemade ice cream and her `Santa Claus' cookies.. She is survived by: 2 sons - Robert Short Euless, TX, Richard and his wife, Thela Short Cyril, OK, 2 daughters and their husbands - Elizabeth and Johnny Monroe Norman, OK,Susan and Bob Hefley Ninnekah, OK,10 grandchildren - James Monroe, Eric Short, Randi Elliott, Javen Hefley, Jason Hefley, Caleb Short, Jera Smith, Jacob Short, Micaela Short, and Destiny Short, 12 great-grandchildren - Mykel Short, Lundyn Short, Clay Short, Wesson Short, Jayden Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Arielle Hefley, Austin Hefley, Jordan Hefley, Jadyn Hefley, Jenna Hefley and Ryder Smith, 3 brothers - Jerry and his wife, Linda Timmons Norman, OK, David and his wife, Ruth Timmons Amarillo, TX, Royce Timmons Amarillo, TX, 2 sisters - Glovetta Hightower Ardmore, OK, Norma Lou Moon Royse City, TX.. She was preceded in death by - Her parents, Her husband, 2 brothers-in-law.. Services for June Short will be held Friday, January 28, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Cyril with Pastor Randy Cocheran officiating. Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home. |
