Sunday, March 13, 2011 Gene Thomas Pendley CYRIL A memorial service for Gene Thomas Pendley, 76, Cyril, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Full Gospel Holiness Church with Pastor Donnie Miller officiating. Mr. Pendley passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at his home in Cyril. Burial will follow at a later date under direction of Cyril Funeral Home. He was born March 20, 1934, in Anadarko to Aut Sharlin and Rosa Videlle [Dowdy] Pendley. After graduating from high school, he served in the Navy and was honorably discharged. He married Ernestine Patricia Taylor Dec. 4, 1958. She preceded him in death Aug. 9, 2008. He was a ranch foreman and worked in the oilfield before going to work as a police officer for the Anadarko Police Department until he retired in 1975. He also worked a mechanic. Gene enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He loved to go dancing with his wife, and was a good rollerskater. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Tommy Gene and Glenda Pendley, Chickasha; Eddie and Waynette Pendley, Cyril; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Jean and Ron Box, Sulphur; nine grandchildren: Brandon and wife, Kacie Pendley; Misty and husband, Brian Myers; Cassie and husband, Brady Horn; Justin and wife, Natalie Hearrell; Austin Pendley, Lacy Box and her fiance, Robert Abbott; Brandon Box; nine great-grandchildren: Paige Pendley, Danika Pendley, Korbin Pendley, Brailei Myers, M'Kailei Myers, Landon Horn, Kelton Horn, Kobe Ashley, Wyatt Hearrell; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Elmer and Margie Pendley, Marlow; Charlie and Janice Pendley, Cyril; Lonnie and Barbara Pendley, Shawnee; a sister, Rosetta Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. |
