Norman, Oklahoma March 5, 2012 Eddie Joe Orf July 14, 1927 ~ March 5, 2012 Funeral service for Eddie Joe Orf, age 84 of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012, in the Cyril First Baptist Church. Rev. Troy Taylor will officiate. Eddie Joe was born the son of Joe Orf and Ruby Mickle Orf on July 14, 1927 in Wilburton, Oklahoma. He died on March 5, 2012, at the Veterans Center in Norman. Eddie grew up in Cyril where he met Francene Montgomery. They were married in October of 1947 in Fletcher. Before his marriage, Eddie served in the United States Army during World War II for one year and four months. After returning to Cyril, he worked for the Cyril Refinery for forty years. During this time, he also worked on his farm. In his free time, Eddie loved Blue Grass festivals and square dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruby Orf, wife, Francene Orf, one brother, Bobby Jack Orf, and two sisters, Angie Bernice Gilliam and Barbara Smith. Survivors include: Son & Wife: Don & Barbara Orf of Enid, Daughter & Husband: Angie & Gary Lindsey of Corinth, Texas, Daughter & Husband: Pam & Carl Venable of Verden, Grandchildren: Lori & Kevin Grenier, Casey & Coby Schneider, Colton & Trevor Lindsey, and Danielle & Brittany Venable, Other family and friends. Interment will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha. |
