May 22, 2009 Madeline [Doutre] Myers Age 86, Cement - Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday in the Cement United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Long, Rev. Galeda Jones and Rev. Montie Jones, officiating. Mrs. Myers passed away Friday evening at her home surrounded by her family. Burial will be in the Celestial Gardens, Cyril, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher, formerly Robbins Funeral Home. She was born on September 6, 1922 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania to Felix Clovis and Emilia [Bernard] Doutre. She grew up in Canonsburg and worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" at Continental Can. Her brother, Henry, introduced Madeline to her future husband, Otha William "Bill" Myers. Henry invited Otha to his home for Thanksgiving and the two fell in love. They were married on February 12, 1944 at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. He passed away on May 26, 1994. Madeline lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very active in her children's and grandchildren's school activities. She was raised Catholic. She became a member of the First Christian Church in Cement and then became a member of the United Methodist Church in Cement. Survivors include a son, Lonnie Myers of Charlotte, North Carolina; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathye Malcom and Larry of Marlow, Debra Wirtz and Nick of Fletcher, and Annette McGregor and Steve of Cement; four grandchildren, Jason Malcom and his wife, LaDona, of Marlow, Amanda Johnson and her husband, Brian, of Fletcher, Chris McGregor and Laura McGregor, both of Cyril, and Bobby McGregor and his wife, Renae, of Mustang; six great grandchildren, Chance and Cierra McGregor, Madison Glancy, Zackary Conway, and Jaden and Bralynn Johnson; a special son, Gene Oliver, of Charlotte, North Carolina; a special daughter, Patricia Morris, of Chickasha; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband, a granddaughter, Crystal Conway, and three brothers, Rene, George and Henry Doutre, preceded her in death. © The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma 25 October 2004 Robert Calvin "Bob" Myers Funeral services for Robert Calvin 'Bob' Myers, age 74, of Cement, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, at the Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha. Pastor Bill Long will officiate. Rev. Dan Eppler and Rev. Chuck Fletcher will assist. Interment will follow in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril. Robert Calvin Myers was born January 26, 1930, in Fort Cobb, to John William Myers and Maude (Stratton) Myers. He died at his home surrounded by his family on October 23, 2004, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, father, and two brothers, J. F. Myers and O. W. Myers. Survivors include his wife, Verna Faye Myers, of the home; son, Larry Myers and wife, Judy, of Tahlequah, OK; son, Terry Myers and wife, Deborah, of Chickasha; daughter, Laurie Long and husband, Bill, of Chickasha; grandchildren, Rhett Myers of Coweta, Cody Myers of Tahlequah, Cammie and Molly Myers of Chickasha, Shane Seitz of Chickasha; brothers, Earl Myers and wife, Ann, of Anadarko, Cecil Myers and wife, Pat, of Anadarko, Herman Myers and wife, Onella, of Anadarko, Kenneth Myers and wife, Susie, of Cyril, Raymond Myers and wife, Leola, of Rush Springs, brothers-in-law, Herman Stafford and wife, Loretta, of Apache, Thurman Stafford of Apache; sisters-in-law, Madeline Myers of Cement, Johnnie Clift, Imogene Clift, Dovie King, of California; numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of friends. Memorials may be made to the Cement Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice. Services are under the direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home. Viewing will be at the Cyril Funeral Home until 8:00 p.m. Monday. |
