Rachel Beatrice [Whitener] Johnson

CYRIL Funeral for Rachel B. Johnson, 91, Cyril, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with John Reed officiating.

She passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, in Lawton.

Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Cyril, to William Bolden and Pearl Jackson Whitener. She married J.B. Johnson on Sept. 14, 1935, in Cyril. Together they owned and operated several restaurants in Texas and California before moving back to Oklahoma in 1959. They ran the hotel and restaurant in Cement until they built a restaurant in Cyril. They also operated the doughnut shop in Cyril then later in Apache until they retired in the mid-1970s. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed doing needlework and was famous for making Choregirls. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church. She was a devoted mother, mother-in-law and grandmother who never spoke an unkind word.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Jim and Jolene Johnson, Cyril; one grandson and his wife, Patrick and Christy Johnson, Cyril; two great-grandchildren: Zachary Johnson and Sydney Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Ed Whitener; and one sister, Shirley Golden Serving as pallbearers are: Patrick Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Val Dean Henery, Jerry Scoggins, Charles Herman and Jimmy Bonds.

June 'J' Johnson

Funeral for June "J" Johnson, 85, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Antwine officiating.

Mr. Johnson died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Lawton.

Burial will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril.

He was born May 31, 1923, in Anadarko, to Lory and Delia Wilson Johnson. He grew up in the rural Anadarko area. He was a veteran of World War II and served in Japan as a technical staff sergeant. He married Joan Rice Feb. 26, 1949, in Vernon, Texas. He worked in the oil fields and owned the Dairy Queen stores in Lawton. He and his wife operated the stores from 1959 to 1991. After they sold the Dairy Queen Stores, he worked full-time operating oil wells, ranching and wheat farming east of Lawton. He was a member of Chickasha Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Lane and Mary Johnson, Sasakwa; and Beck and Sherrie Johnson, Weatherford; a daughter, Lisa Johnson Cummings, Bentonville, Ark.; six grandchildren: Chris Johnson, and Rachael Johnson, both of Sasakwa; Matthew Johnson, Clayton Johnson and Justin Johnson, all of Weatherford; and Chad Cummings, Bentonville, Ark.; a sister, Dorthy Cotten, Prairie Grove, Ark.; and a brother, Walter Johnson, Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Leon and Aggert Gallaway, Q.B. Johnson, and Carl Johnson.

Beulah Joan [Rice] Johnson

Funeral service for Mrs. [Beulah] Joan Johnson will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lawton with the Rev. Dr. Bobbie McGarey, interim pastor, officiating.

She died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Ok. Burial will be at Celestial Gardens, Cyril, Ok under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

She was born November 30, 1928 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Timothy and Mabel Hafer Rice. She grew up in the rural Lindsay area and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1947.

She was a telephone operator in Chickasha when she met the love of her life, J. Johnson. They married February 26, 1949, in Vernon, Texas and she followed him as he worked in the oil fields. They moved to Lawton in 1959. They owned the Dairy Queen stores in Lawton, operating them from 1959-1991.

Mrs. Johnson enjoyed genealogy, sewing, crafts, and her grandchildren.

She was involved in numerous civic activities including the Lawton Bicentennial Commission, Cleaner Greener Lawton, United Presbyterian Women, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Daughters of 1812. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lawton since 1959.

Survivors include her children, two sons and a daughter: Lane Johnson and his wife, Mary, of Sasakwa, Ok; Beck Johnson and his wife, Sherrie, of Weatherford, Ok; and Lisa Johnson Cummings of Bentonville, Arkansas, as well as her grandchildren: Chris Johnson and Rachael Johnson of Sasakwa, Ok; Matthew Johnson, Clayton Johnson, and Justin Johnson of Weatherford, Ok; and Chad Cummings of Bentonville, Arkansas. She is also survived by her brothers, Marvin Rice and his wife, Imogene, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Ben Rice and his wife, Virginia, of Duncan, Ok; and her sisters, Bonnie Banks and Yvonna Reed, both of Marlow, Ok.

Memorial contributions may be made to Daughters of American Revolution, 1776 D Street NW, Washington, DC 20006. A visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009, at the funeral home.

Eugene Johnson Funeral Service Slated At Cyril

Funeral services for Eugene Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 7, in the Baptist church at Cyril.

Johnson died Friday, January 30, in Veterans Hospital at Los Angeles, Calif., and his body is being returned to Cyril for interment.

He is survived by several sisters and a brother, Joe Johnson, at Cyril as well as a brother , O.L. Johnson, at Wichita Falls.

Funeral service for Vickie Laquita [Wilkinson] Johnson, 36, Chesapeake, Virginia will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Assembly of God Church, Cement, Oklahoma with Rev. Mike Bates, Pastor, and Rev. Raymond McPherson officiating.

Ms. Johnson died Saturday, March 26, 2005 in Norfolk, Virginia. Burial will be in Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, Oklahoma under the directions of Becker Funeral Home of Cement, ormally Robbins Cement Chapel.

Viewing will be at the Becker Funeral Home Cement Chapel, Cement, Oklahoma.

She was born February 5, 1969 in Lovington, New Mexico to Billy and Carolyn (Fleming) Wilkinson. They soon moved to Cement, Oklahoma where she grew up and attended school. She moved to Norfolk, Virginia in 1986.

Survivors include: Two daughters: LaChanda Petty, Lovington, New Mexico; Casey Johnson of Norfolk, Virginia; Father: Billy Wilkinson and wife Brenda, Cement, Oklahoma; Mother: Carolyn Satterlee, Cement, Oklahoma; Brother: Ricky Wilkinson and wife Amy, Sweetwater, Oklahoma; Two step-sisters: Kim LeBleu and Keri Jahn and husband Travis both of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Two nieces: Whitney and Emily Wilkinson and a nephew Tyler Wilkinson, many cousins and friends from Cement, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Bill and Ruby Wilkinson, Cement, Oklahoma and maternal grandparents, Herbert and Clydie Fleming of Lovington, New Mexico. Sympathy cards may be sent to the family online at www.beckerfuneral.com.
