© Wilson-Little Funeral Home Purcell, Oklahoma August 2020 February 19, 1950 ~ August 26, 2020 Bob Hendley, age 70 of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Robert Lee Hendley, III was born February 19, 1950 in Oklahoma City, the 2nd of 4 children born to Robert Lee Hendley II and Lucille [McGowen] Hendley. He spent his early childhood in California, and attended school some in Sulphur, before returning to OKC, which he always considered his home. Bob graduated from Southeast High School with the Class of 1969. After high school, he began working at City National Bank. It was here he met a young lady named Joyce Risenhoover, and together they raised three children, son Robert and daughters April and Sheryl. Bob later worked for Thermo King servicing refrigeration for semi-trucks. He then worked at Deaconess Hospital as a boiler operator, and later at Southwestern Bell. Bob later married Fran Sawyer, and two families became one. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed traveling, and he and Fran were able to visit the 48 continental states. Bob loved the freedom of the road, and spent countless hours on his Harley. He was an avid sports fan; loved Oklahoma State and the Chicago Cubs. His greatest passion was his photography. He collected cameras over the years, had a keen awareness for the right picture, and shared his talents with his family and friends. He was a family man first and he cherished his grandchildren. He will be forever missed! He was preceded in death by: His first wife, Joyce Hendley; His parents, Robert II and Lucille Hendley and Sister, Christine Hendley. Bob is survived by: His wife, Fran, of the home; His children, Robert Hendley and wife Misty of Norman, April Hendley of Carbondale, IL and Sheryl Casey and husband Dean Of Checotah; Step sons, Scott Sawyer and wife Kathy of Lexington and Josh Sawyer and wife Amber of Stratford; Brother, Carl Hendley and wife Lynn of Roswell, NM; Sister, Glenda Drew and husband Fred of ME; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril.
