Karen Yvonne [Redbone] Heminokeky CYRIL Karen Yvonne Heminokeky, 56 of Cyril, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 16, 2015, with her loving family by her side. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Apache Reformed Church in Apache with Pastor Worcester and Edmond Nevaquaya officiating. Burial will follow at Cyril Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Apache Reformed Church. Karen was born Aug.18, 1958, in Lawton, to Donny and Patricia Pennah Redbone. She grew up in the Fort Cobb-Apache area and graduated as Valedictorian from Broxton High School. She was also a member of the OSU Honor Society. Karen attended Cameron University and University of Albuquerque majoring in accounting. Karen married Lloyd Heminokeky Jr. on Feb. 19, 1976, at Apache Reformed Church. Karen was a member of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma and also of Comanche descent. Karen was also a member of the Apache Blackfeet Society and Comanche Native American Church. Karen enjoyed sewing, OU football, Thunder basketball, and spending time with her family and friends. Karen is survived by: husband, Lloyd Heminokeky, of the home; five daughters and spouses: JoNeal and Derek Jocko, of Ottawa, Canada; O'Neda Heminokeky, of Cyril; Jamie and Adrian Prairie Chief, of Fort Cobb; Llori and John Goombi, of Anadarko; and Stacey Heminokeky and Keith Gayton, of Lawton; parents: Donny and Patricia Redbone, of Apache; eight grandchildren: Jordan, J.D., Hayden, Bruce, Blake, Khloe, Haddon and Khylie; aunts: Karyleen Horsechief, Rowena, LouAnn, Beryl and Maxine; and numerous others, aunts and uncles. Karen was preceded in death by: sister, Sharon Redbone; brother, Frankie Redbone; grandparents: Frankie and Carrie Redbone, Matthew and Lucille Otis Whitehorse, and Jack Pennah; and niece, Michelle Redbone. |
