Peggy Lorene [Cook] Gibson

OKLAHOMA CITY - Memorial service for former Cyril resident Peggy Lorene Gibson, 80, Oklahoma City, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church, Cyril, with David Gibson officiating.

She died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, in Oklahoma City.

Private family graveside service will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery prior to the memorial service under direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

She was born Feb. 5, 1929, in Cyril. She married J. R. Gibson on Oct. 31, 1947, in Cyril. She was an employee at Fort Sill for 27 years. Upon her retirement in 1988, she worked part-time for Cyril Funeral Home before moving to Village on the Park Retirement Center in Oklahoma City in 2004. She made many new friends there and enjoyed the many activities, especially playing cards, working on puzzles, visiting with friends, and talking on the phone to her friends and relatives. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Cyril.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Alethea Gibson, Oklahoma City; grandson, Scott Gibson, Butte, Mont.; granddaughter and husband, Leslee and Kevin Howze, Edmond; a sister, Eva Williams, Cyril; several special nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. R.; her parents, Burl and Eddie Cook; a brother, William Jackson "Sonny" Cook; and a sister, Joy Elizabeth Bailey.

Dorothy Marie McGee Gibson

A memorial service for Dorothy "Dinky" Marie Gibson, 84, of Cyril, will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Cyril First Baptist Church with Pastor David Gibson and Pastor Kip Ackley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gibson passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at her home in Cyril at the age of 84.

Dorothy "Dinky" Marie [McGee] Gibson was born September 16, 1932 in Temple, Oklahoma to JC and Margaret [Hunt] McGee.

She married Elmo Gibson on September 4, 1954 in Cyril. The two were married for 62 years.

She is survived by her husband, Elmo Gibson; 4 daughters: Tammy Pollard, Jenny Barnes and her husband Rick, Lea Fourkiller and her husband Marty, and Penny Coon and her husband Steve; 3 granddaughters: Falon Yost and her husband Wes, Emily Baker, and Jenna Coon; 1 grandson, Dylan Barnes and his wife Erin; 9 great grandchildren: Alex, Walker, and Lawson Yost, Cayden, Braxlyn, and Acelyn Barnes, Ariana Harris, Jacob Baker, and Chasen Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents: JC "Fibber" and Margaret [Tim] McGee and 1 sister, Mary Jennings.
