Chickasha, Oklahoma Sunday, December 18, 2011 Ruth Electa Maxine [Rider] FaGalde April 28, 1923 ~ December 15, 2011 Funeral for Ruth Electa Maxine Rider FaGalde, 88, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cyril United Methodist Church with the Rev. Adonna Bridges officiating. Mrs. FaGalde passed from this earth Thursday, December 15, 2011, in Chickasha. Interment will be in Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under direction of McRay Funeral Home. She was born April 28, 1923, in Cement to Walter E. and Bonnie E. Cook Rider. She attended elementary school in Cyril before moving to Fletcher and graduating in 1942. After graduating high school, she worked for the Fletcher Bank until 1943. She then she went to work at Tinker Air Force Base, where she met her future husband of 51 years, Orval Vernon FaGalde. They married Sept. 5, 1944. She was the proud mother of two sons: Tommy Eugene FaGalde and Richard Lee FaGalde. During her life, she served her community in many ways. She, along with her husband, was a charter member of Cyril United Methodist Church and spent several years actively involved with the United Methodist Women. She served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts and also as a cook for the Cyril Rotary Club. She spent her later years participating in school and athletic activities with both of her grandchildren: Andrew and Jennifer. She was also passionate about working with the Great Plains Emmaus Chapter. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and loved being "mom" and "grandma" to any child with whom she came into contact. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and friends, giving and getting hugs and sharing her love for the Lord. Survivors include two sons and their spouses: Tommy and Patricia FaGalde, McAlester, and Richard and Susan FaGalde, Verden; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Chaffee, Chickasha; a grandson, Andrew FaGalde, Cyril; a granddaughter and her spouse: Jennifer and Patrick Phillips, Chickasha; three nieces: Adonna Bridges, Devilla Watts and Bonnie Winner; and four nephews: Walter Rieck, George Trail, Ronnie Trail and John Trail Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval Vernon FaGalde; her parents: Walter and Bonnie Cook Rider; three sisters: Agnes Rieck, Opal Rider and Vernette Trail; and a nephew, Charles Rieck. In lieu of flowers, the family of Maxine FaGalde asks that donations be made to Cyril Methodist Church or the Great Plains Emmaus Chapter in her memory. |
