February 6, 2013 Will Ray "Sonny" Dawdy Will Ray "Sonny" Dawdy of Cyril, Oklahoma was born February 28, 1943 in Ryan, OK to Jesse Ray and Ruth [Morris] Dawdy. He went to be with his Lord February 6, 2013 at his home in Cyril at the age of 69. He married Linda Joy Johnson on May 14, 1963 in Wichita Falls, TX. He started Dawdy's Masonry Construction Company in 1967 and worked until he retired in 1995. After his retirement he spent most of his time raising cattle and fixing up old tractors. He enjoyed fishing and camping and trot-lining with his wife and friends. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandsons. He is survived by: His wife, Linda, of the home, 1 son and his wife - Donald Ray and Judy Dawdy Cyril, OK, 1 daughter - Paula Renee Moore Cyril, OK, 1 grandson - Colt Ross Moore, 3 sisters - Loretta and husband, James Martin Cement, OK, Sharon Williams Lakeside Village, OK, Sally and husband, Craig Gibson Cyril, OK, Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: His parents, Twin infant siblings - Ronald Dean and Donna Jean Dawdy, 1 grandson - Dalton Ray Dawdy, 1 brother - Larry Gene Dawdy, 1 sister - Norma Sue Hughes. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at Calvary Temple with Pastor Kip Ackley officiating. Burial will follow at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home. All viewing will be held at Calvary Temple, 102 West Main, Cyril, Thursday afternoon until 8:00 P.M. and Friday from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Pallbearers will be: Tristan Gibson Jimmy Martin, Johnathan Gibson, Brad Milford, Mark Martin & Robert Hinton. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Wednesday, 13 June 2007 Dalton Ray Dawdy Funeral service for Dalton Ray Dawdy, age 16 of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2007, in the Cyril High School Auditorium. Rev. Donnie Miller will officiate and Randy Cocheran will assist. Dalton Ray Dawdy was born the son of Donald Ray Dawdy and Jamie Dawn Vap Dawdy Toahty on July 23, 1990, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He died on June 11, 2007, in an auto accident near Cyril. Dalton would have been a junior at Cyril High School where his passion was basketball. His freshmen year, he lettered in football and planned on playing again his junior year. He was a good student and was on the honor roll. Dalton was the senior class mascot in 1995 and was known as the class clown. Dalton liked to ride around town in his pickup with his friends. He also liked the New York Yankees. Dalton was employed by the school and mowed lawns in the summer. He was a loving, caring, and respectful person who was loved by all. Dalton was a member of the Full Gospel Church and a member of the Full Gospel Church Youth group. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Jess and Ruth Dawdy, Joe and Rubye Johnson, and Doyle and Eva Gilliam. Survivors include: Father & Step-mother: Donald & Judy Dawdy of Cyril; Mother & Step-father: Jamie & Jeffery Toahty, Jr. of Cyril; Grandparents: Sonny & Linda Dawdy of Cement; Grandmother: Sally Vap of Cyril; Grandfather & Step-grandmother: James & Eydie Vap of Edmond; Great-Grandmother: Allene Vap of Edmond; Aunt: Paula Moore of Cyril; Aunt: Nancy Vap of Cyril; Aunt: Caren Vap of Edmond; Cousin: Colt Moore of Cyril; Numerous Other Family & Friends. Interment will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home. |
