Virgie Lee Curry
September 15, 1914 ~ January 31, 2005


CYRIL-Funeral for Virgie Lee Curry, 90, Cyril, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cyril Church of Christ with Doug Graham, pastor; Tom Brazell, Cyril; Noel Curry, a brother; and Edward Curry, a nephew; officiating.

Ms. Curry died Monday January 31, 2005, at an Anadarko nursing center.

Burial will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher.

She was born September 15, 1914, in Kemp, Bryan County, to James B. Curry and Jennie Lee Barnett Curry. She moved with her family to Sterling when she was 7. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1933; moved to Amarillo, Texas, in 1946; and later to Albuquerque, NM. She moved to Lawton in 1967 and was employed with Freeman Construction as a bookkeeper. She retired from there in 1976 and moved to Cyril, where she lived since. She was a member of the Cyril Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sister: Doris Bennett and Louise Janousek, both of Cyril; two brothers: Ronnie Curry, Sterling; and Noel Curry, Cochise, Ariz.; six nieces: Deloris VanAmberg, Eagle Mich.; Helen Barnard, Cochise; Janna Corelius, Carrollton, Texas; Kellie Raper, Leslie, Mich.; Linda Baughman, Vernon, Texas; and Lisa Coleman, Sterling; four nephews: Ronnie James Curry, Kenny Mike Curry and Marty Curry all of Sterling; and Edward Curry, Pearce, Ariz.; and 28 great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Kenneth Curry.

Kenneth Malcolm Curry
December 10, 1922 ~ January 18, 2000


CYRIL - Funeral for Kenneth Malcolm Curry, 77, Cyril, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sterling Church of Christ with Adraine Smith, Sterling, officiating.

He died Tuesday at Fort Sill. Burial will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher.

He was born December 10, 1922 in Sterling. He grew up in Sterling. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1942. He moved to Detroit in 1944 where he was employed by Allied Chemical Company as a welder.

He married Celia Dunning on Dec 3, 1945, in Detroit. She died Feb 5, 1972. He returned to Sterling in 1960, where he farmed.

He was employed as a road grader operator for seven years for Comanche County Eastern District. He had been a Cyril resident for eight years.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Barbara Barker, Sterling; two stepsons: Randall Carlson, Lawton; and Perry Wright, Michigan; two brothers Noel, Chochise, Ariz; and Ronnie, Sterling; three sisters, Virgie Lee Curry, Doris Bennett and Louise Janousek, all of Cyril, eight step-grandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren, and a special friend, LaVerne Neal, Sterling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Beecher and Jennie Lee Curry; and a stepson, Jimmy Wright.
