Anadarko, Oklahoma June 8, 2016 Clayton Haskell Cribbs November 8, 1923 ~ June 18, 2016 Clayton Haskell Cribbs of Cyril, OK was born November 8, 1923 on the family farm, between Cyril and Apache, to George Clint and Carrie Duff [Thomas] Cribbs. He passed away June 18th in Anadarko, OK at the age of 92. Haskell graduated from Cyril High School in 1943. Before he graduated, he went to work for the APCO refinery in Cyril. After graduation, he entered the Navy during World War II. After his honorable service, he returned to the refinery and continued working there for 41 years, retiring, when the refinery closed, as Operations Supervisor. He married Ethelene Ruth Freie on the family farm on March 31, 1946. To this union, two children were born. She preceded him in death. Haskell enjoyed doing carpentry, working on engines and other odd jobs in his spare time. He liked to hunt and fish, and was an avid golfer. He also would take his family to the lake. He married Virginia Locke on October 13, 1987. She preceded him in death in 2014. He always kept a garden and enjoyed working in the yard. Haskell loved helping people and working at his church. He served as an Elder in the Cyril Church of Christ. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and taking care of his family. He is survived by: 1 son- Haskell Erwin Cribbs Salem, OR 1 daughter- Diane and Monte Snider Cyril, OK 2 step children- Gary and Debbie Locke Velma, OK Susan Locke Chickasha, OK 7 grandchildren- Michelle Cribbs, Justin Snider, Ryan Snider, Brittney Cribbs-Teal, Katelyn Cribbs, Chris Locke, Ryan Locke 7 great-grandchildren- Logan Snider, Bronc Snider, Paycus Snider, Lacey Snider, Hadley Snider, Tanner Locke, Taylor Locke 4 sisters- Joan Edwards Cyril, OK Joyce Nichols Illinois Patricia and Doug Sikes Chickasha, OK Janice and Doug Wells Lawton, OK. He was preceded in death by: His parents His wives, Ethelene Cribbs and Virginia Cribbs 1 brother, Carl Winright Cribbs, 3 sisters-Imogene Ackley, Virginia Edwards, Darlene Patterson. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 21st at 2:00 P.M. at the Cyril Church of Christ with Doug Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home. |
