Jackie Lamar "Butch" Cobb
June 21, 1948 ~ January 31, 2010


Funeral service for Jackie Lamar "Butch" Cobb, age 61 of Cement, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2010, in the Grand Assembly of God Church in Chickasha. Rev. Larry Hatfield will officiate.

Jackie Lamar "Butch" Cobb was born the son of Ty Jack Cobb and Juanita Hales Cobb on June 21, 1948, in Calhoun, Georgia. He died on January 31, 2010 in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Butch graduated from Red Bud High School in Calhoun, Georgia..

He entered the United States Army and served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War..

After his discharge from the Army, he returned to Calhoun. Butch worked 20 years at Cardens Hardware in Calhoun, Georgia. He then worked for Bentley Dye Carpet Plant.

On April 9, 1993, he married Sherry Bilyeu in Calhoun, Georgia. In 1994, he and his wife moved to the Cement and Cyril area. Butch worked at Hollytex and Chickasha Lumber until retiring due to his health..

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ty and Juanita Cobb; two brothers, Jimmy and David; one sister, Janice..

Survivors include: Wife: Sherry Cobb of the home; Special Granddaughter and joy of his life: Makaylee White; Sister: Shirley Manning of Chatsworth, Georgia; Sister: Barbara Ann Hyde of Calhoun, Georgia; Several Nieces and Nephews including Joann, Robin and Kay and Large Extended Family.

Burial will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home in Chickasha.
