Sunday, January 14, 2018 Johnny Ray Carr John Carr was born November 20, 1943 in Paducah, Texas to Loyal and Lois [Riggs] Carr. He was called home by the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2018, with his family by his side. He was 74 years old. John grew up in Texas on a ranch. He moved to Anadarko in 1971. He met and later married his love, Peggy Ward, on June 1, 1973 in Cyril. To this union was born 2 sons. John was a carpenter and thoroughly loved and enjoyed working. He loved his family very much and was so proud of each of them especially the grandchildren, whom brought much joy in his life. John was a hard core Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed playing racquetball. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anadarko. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Peggy of the home; 2 sons: Cody Carr of Moore, Oklahoma, Clay Carr and wife, Candice of Cyril, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren: Mason Carr and Chesney Carr of Moore, Oklahoma and Sawyer Carr of Cyril, Oklahoma; brother, Jerry Carr and wife, Pam of Mansfield, Texas; 2 step-sisters Darlene Johnson of Bunch, OK and Mary Cook of Mansfield, TX aunt Ellen Ruth Wise of Mounds, Oklahoma; 2 nieces: Dusti Carr of Mansfield, Texas and Brandi Buss and husband, Brad of Mansfield, Texas; 2 half sisters: Penny Allred of Alabama and Jaime Jones of Birmingham, Alabama; sister-in-law, Phyllis Hobbs and husband, Jim of Anadarko, Oklahoma; niece Kacy Hamar and husband, Nick of Guthrie, Oklahoma and nephew Trent Hobbs and wife, Janet of Ohio, along with numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins. John is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Anadarko. Rev. Lynn Bellamy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril, Oklahoma. Funeral services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma. |
