Wednesday, November 5, 2014 Naomi [McGuire] Brown Funeral service for Naomi Brown, 94 of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Calvary Temple in Cyril. Pastor Kip Ackley will officiate. Naomi was born July 13, 1920 at her home in Cyril to Audis and Jessie McGuire. She passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at MonteVista Rehabilitation Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. Naomi attended Tonkawa Schools through the 8th grade and later graduated from Cyril High School in 1939. In October of 1939, she was united in marriage to Arthur Brown of Cyril. For many years, Naomi worked for E. R. Kaiser grocery store. Later Mr. and Mrs. Brown purchased Wolf's Service Station in Cyril. They later bought Otasco in Cyril and ran it for 17 years until they retired. Naomi then volunteered at Comanche County Memorial Hospital for 20 years until her health forced her to retire. For many years she was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Cyril prior to joining Calvary Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Brown; her parents Audis and Jessie McGuire; brother Loyd McGuire; sister Gladys Miller. Mrs. Brown was the matriarch of 5 generations in Oklahoma: daughter, Shirley [Brown] Stalder and husband Andy, Cyril; granddaughter, Diana [Stalder] Gray and husband Kenny, Cyril; great granddaughters, Haley [Gray] McPherson and husband Tre', Cyril; Kenna [Gray] Garrard and husband Cory, Elgin; great great granddaughters and great great grandson, Kadence and Kennady Garrard, Elgin; Bre'dyn McPherson, Cyril. She is also survived by granddaughter, Deborah [Stalder] Rodriguez and husband Ron, Moore; great granddaughter, Andie Rodriguez, Moore; great grandson, Troy Rodriguez, Moore. Also in Ohio, she is survived by daughter, Patsy [Brown] Moser and husband Bobby, Dublin, OH; grandsons, Mitch Moser and wife Pamela, Galloway, OH; Brannon Moser and wife Michelle, Powell, OH; great grandchildren, Jake Moser, Ben Moser, Becca Moser, Galloway, OH, Isabelle Moser, Meghan Moser, Brannon Moser, Quentin Moser, Powell, OH. Burial will be in Cyril at the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha. |
Saturday, March 4, 2017 Gene Brown Funeral service for Gene Brown, 92, of Canyon, TX, will be Monday, March 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM, at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Fletcher Chapel with Rev. Manuel Hankins and Rev. B.J. Radke officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril. Gene passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Amarillo, TX. Gene was born December 30, 1924 in Red Oak, OK to Charles Jerome and Jessie [Ayers] Brown. Gene joined the Navy and served his country in the Pacific theatre during WWII. Following the war Gene married Roma Duncan, his wife of 56 years, of Cyril, OK on April 29, 1946. Gene and Roma lived in Wichita Falls and Burkburnett, TX where Gene worked for Hostess Cakes and retired after 25 years in 1985. Following his retirement Gene worked for a local vending company where he made change for students at Wichita Falls Ryder High School. In 1996 Gene and Roma moved to Water Valley, TX to be with their son and family. Gene was a loving family man who would do anything possible for his family and was always happy and never complained. Gene played his electric guitar in church until October of 2011. Those left to cherish Gene's memory are his son, Duncan Brown and wife Cindy, two grandsons; Duncan E. Brown and wife Ami, and Zane Brown and wife Vanessa. Gene was preceded in death by his wife Roma, his parents, brothers and sister. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 Peggy Arlene [Constant] Brown Cyril- Memorial service for Peggy [Constant] Brown, 82, will be 10:30 am Thursday, April 4, 2013, in the Cyril United Methodist Church with Pastor Laurie Stinnett officiating. Mrs. Brown died Tuesday, April 2 at her home. Private burial will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Fletcher. She was born June 5, 1930 South of Elgin to Henton and Mamie [Stinnett] Constant. She married Bill Brown on July 30, 1945 in Lawton. Peggy was a homemaker who loved to be with all of her family. She enjoyed quilting and going to her grandchildren's ball games. She loved square dancing and enjoyed playing softball with the women's league in Cyril. She is survived by her husband of the home; her children, Shirley Liles, Cyril, Michael Brown and wife Cathy, Marshfield, Missouri, Connie Moser and husband Ron, Zionsville, Indiana, Michelle Wein and husband Paul, New Market, Alabama, and JoAnn Gibson and husband Kent, Cyril; grandchildren, Nela Edwards, Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Justin Brown, Marshfield, Missouri, Cari Baker, Seymour, Missouri, Drew Moser, Upland, Indiana, Travis Moser, Carmel, Indiana, Koby Gibson, Cyril, Stephanie Turpin, Glenpool, Oklahoma, and Christi Epperson, Tulsa; great grandchildren, Brock, Sarah and Drew Cowen, Ben, Sam, Eloisa and Stella Moser, James and Charlotte Moser, Audrey and Hadley Gibson, McKenzie Epperson, Jaden Hamilton, Kiera Wein, Allysann and Addysann Baker, and Kylee and Lilly Edwards; and a sister, Patsy Adger, Boulder City, Nevada.
