Rev. Ray Weathers will officiate, assisted by Rev. Vance Haskins. Hazle Thelma Bilyeu was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Carnegie, Okla., and died on Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at her home near Cyril. Hazle Thelma Bilyeu was born the daughter of Luther Richard Scott and Mollie Isabell Baker Scott on January 1, 1916, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. She died on December 8, 2003, at her home near Cyril. Hazle had lived in Caddo County all of her life. She had worked for a few years as the Cyril Nursing Home. Hazle was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, her husband, F. L. (Nook) Bilyeu, one son, Randell Lee Bilyeu, and three infant grandsons, Steven, Jason, and Jeffrey Hargus. Survivors include: daughter, Virginia Self of Cyril; son and wife, Walter and Ruth Brown of Cement; daughter and husband, Kathy and Jim Shelby of Duncan; daughter and husband, Rozella and Kenneth Hargus of Cyril; daughter and husband, Sherry and Butch Cobb of Verden; grandchildren: Shelly Trammell of Anadarko, Michael Thomas of Oklahoma City, Ken Self of Marlow, Jeanine Hightower of Duncan, Kim Coop of Cyril, Chris Brown of Cement, Travis Bilyeu of Cyril, Kenita Self of Cyril, Kay Lynn Provost of Harrah, Heather Seay of Yukon, and Michelle Moren of Duncan; great grandchildren: Jessica Martin, Mason, McKenzie and Chase Hightower, Joey and Shelby Provost, Riley and Kelsey Coop, Hunter and Hailee Brown, Cade Seay, Trent Self, Stephanie and Blake Moren, and Loran Taft. Interment will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Funeral Home. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma February 2002 Delmer Ray Bilyeu Funeral service for Delmer Ray Bilyeu, age 77, of Cyril, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 2002, at the Cyril First Christian Church. Rev. Richmond Adams will officiate, and Rev. Bud Jones will assist. Delmer was born the son of Emmett Arvin Bilyeu and Mary Ethel Ray Bilyeu on November 30, 1924, in Fletcher, Oklahoma. He died on February 24, 2002, at his home in Cyril. Delmer grew up and attended school in Fletcher, OK. He was brought up in the Christian Church in Fletcher and was baptized at a young age. Following school, Delmer entered the U. S. Army and served during WWII. He then returned to the states and attended barber school. He began his career as barber in Apache, then moved to Cyril in 1949 to continue working as a barber. While in Cyril, he was a member of the Fair Board, Chamber of Commerce, and the First Christian Church. Delmer married Vera Mae Bilyeu on February 4, 1946, in Apache. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delvin Bilyeu, Jr.; and grandchild Justin Allen Leonhart. Survivors include: his wife, Vera Mae Bilyeu, of the home; 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Verna Rae Bailey and William, of Cyril, Delma Kay Leonhart and Jim, of Fletcher, and Debra Ann McPherson and Larry, of Cyril; son and daughter-in-law: Mark Wayne Bilyeu and Mimi, of Piedmont; sister and nephew: Helen Lovette, of Sterling, and Danny Lovette, of Jasper, Texas; grandchildren: Melinda Six, Kevin Bailey, Eric Bailey, Cristy LaTulip, Johnny Leonhart, Dustin Leonhart, Delvie McPherson, Tre' McPherson, Weston Bilyeu and Kyndal Bilyeu; five great grandchildren. There will be no viewing at the service. Interment will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home. |
