Doris Beatrice [Curry] Bennett

Memorial service for Doris Beatrice Bennett, 91, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cyril Church of Christ, South 2nd and Kansas.

Burial will follow at Celestial Garden Cemetery in Cyril.

Doris passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012.

Arrangements were under direction of Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland, Mich.

She was born Dec. 12, 1920, the daughter of James B. and Jennie J. Barnett Curry. She married Orvil Bennett on Aug. 15, 1938, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1993.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers: Kenneth Curry and Ronnie Curry; and sister, Virgie Lee Curry.

Surviving are her daughter, three grandchildren, sister, brother, and three sisters-in-law.

L. Pauline [Hollarn] Bennett

L. Pauline Bennett Of Cyril, Oklahoma Pauline was born October 27, 1919 south of Cyril, OK to Elmer and Ora [Hukill-Paul] Hollarn. She passed away at her home in Cyril on October 17th at the age of 94.

Pauline graduated from Cyril High School and during World War II, worked at the Cyril Refinery.

She married Snooks T. Bennett on May 10, 1946 in Lawton, OK. He preceded her in death in April 1995.

An avid outdoors person, she enjoyed gardening and travelling. She and her husband made several trips to Alaska on the Alaskan highway. She also enjoyed going to Colorado, the last trip on Labor Day weekend, 2014. A family joke is if the "car door is open," we'll get in it; she always did. For example, she took a brief road trip three days before she died.

Pauline was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Cyril; she and Snooks were instrumental in maintaining the old church building and building the current home for the congregation.

She is survived by: 2 daughters- Regina Bennett and her partner, Kay Rogers Oklahoma City, OK Cindy and husband, Kerry Mitchell Cyril, OK 2 grandsons- Zachary Mitchell, Jake and wife, Cheyenne Mitchell Her special nieces and nephew- Ron Polston, Tammy Brown and Terri Walters She was preceded in death by: Her parents Her husband, Snooks Bennett 2 brothers- Warren Hollarn, Fred Hollarn 2 sisters- Ruth Coleman, Dora Pfeiffer.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20th at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church of Cyril with John Hollarn officiating and assisted by Pastor Delbert McCurley. Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

Eugene Burl "Gene" Bennett

Funeral services for Eugene B. Bennett, 74 year old Elgin resident and Alfalfa native were Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Elgin. Rev. Jay Lewis, pastor, and Rev. Larry Thomas, pastor of Elgin First Assembly of God, officiated.

Burial was in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery at Cyril under direction of Robbins Funeral Home of Fletcher, now Becker Funeral Home.

Eugene was born April 17, 1920, in Alfalfa, where he grew up and attended school.

He married Mary Evelyn Fillingham, July 15, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas. They moved to Cyril in 1962, and south of Elgin in 1979. He was a farmer, and enjoyed carpentry and welding. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin.

He passed awa

y Saturday, November 19, 1994, at a Lawton hospital, following a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home; two daughters, Donna Carol Butler and her husband Harold of Tulsa and Reva Gale Caldwell and her husband David of Newcastle; five grandsons, Myron and Brian Butler, and Jesse, Gene Dillan and Casey Caldwell; and one great-granddaughter, Kristen Butler.

Also surviving are four brothers, George of Alfalfa, Leo of Yukon, Ralph of Oklahoma City, and Orville of Amarillo, Texas, and one sister, Floy Pitt of Hydro.

William A. "Bill" Bennett

Funeral for William Arthur "Bill" Bennett, 78, Cyril, will be Friday, June 8, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Cyril, OK, with Rev. Donnie Miller, Cyril, and Rev. Larry Hatfield, Chickasha, officiating.

Mr. Bennett died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, in a Lawton hospital.

Burial will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery, Cyril, under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher.

He was born in Rush Springs, OK, on April 22, 1923. From Rush Springs he moved to California for a short time, then back to Sterling, OK. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in France, Germany, Philippines and Japan.

He married Mildred Moss on January 10, 1944, in Chickasha, OK. The moved to Cyril where Bill was employed by Apco Refinery for 35 years as a pipe fitter, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking when he could.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred, of the home; 2 daughters, Linda Brasee, of Cyril, Mary Whitner and her husband, Garyal, of Chouteau, OK; 6 grandchildren, Jeff, Shelli, Christa, Russ, Jill and Nikki; 8 great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hannah, Chelsea, Cordell, Devon, Ryder, Jewelle and Anakin; one sister, Estelle Ogletree, of Elk City, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted Bennett and Cordelia (Green) Bennett; 4 brothers, Orville, C.W., Ernest and Snooks; 1 sister, Dimple Gilliam.

Mildred Maxine [Moss] Bennett

Mildred Maxine Bennett of Cyril, OK was born September 30, 1927 in Cyril, OK to Howard Randolph and Mary Etta [O'Donnelly] Moss. She passed away March 1, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the age of 90.


She married William A. Bennett on January 10, 1944 in Chickasha, OK. He preceded her in death. Together, they enjoyed camping with their friends and family. Mildred was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a quilter and crocheted. She also enjoyed playing Rummy. Mildred's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She is survived by: 2 daughters, Mary Whitener Chouteau, OK, Linda Brasee Cyril, OK, 6 grandchildren,
Jeff Whitener, Shelli and husband, Greg Sharber; Christa Campbell, Russ and wife, Teri Igo; Nikki and husband, Paul Krahm; Jill and husband, Russell Akin, 15 great-grandchildren, Wyatt Sharber, Chelsea and husband, Zach Harris; Hannah Sharber, Cordell Whitener, Devon Miller, Jewellee Igo, Morgan Igo, Ryder Igo, Anakin McClure, Cameron McClure, Maddox Krahm, Cali Krahm, Allison Akin, Will Akin, Owen Akin, 1 great-great granddaughter, Brooklyn Miller.


She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Her husband, A son-in-law, Garyal Whitener, 2 sisters, Eva Schneberger, Ethel Crouch, 1 nephew, Howard Neal, 1 niece, Cheryl Carlson


Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5th at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church with Pastor Lynn Bellamy officiating. Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

Peggy Jean [Scott] Bennett

Peggy Jean's soul took flight on December 19, 2006. She was born September 30, 1933, to Guy and Alfie [Wilkes] Scott

She married her one true love Lynn Bennett. They had an exciting life together, full of ideas for their future. Their life together included starting many small businesses like a furniture store of 20 years, and in retirement began their final career in real estate. Her life was her family and her family's life was her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son: Bryan Scott Bennett; 2 brothers & 1 sister.

She is survived by her husband: Lynn; 1 daughter: Peggy Lynn Sumrall & Jerry of Del City; 3 grandchildren: Dena Manning & Robert, Ryan Farrow, & Hettie Lynn Bennett; 3 great-grandchildren: Evan, Brendan, & Alex Manning; 3 sisters: Delphia Breckner & Bill, Neoma Jones, & Donnis Felix & Leon; also many extended family members that she loved.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment at Celestial Gardens, Cyril, OK.
