Harold Benjamin Ward

Graveside services for Harold Benjamin Ward, 83, Billings, Montana, will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, in the Cement Cemetery, Cement, Oklahoma.

Mr. Ward died Wednesday, March 6, 2002. Burial will be under the direction of the Robbins Cement Chapel, Cement, Oklahoma. A family and friends dinner will be held at noon Monday in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Cement.

Harold Benjamin Ward was born April 3, 1918 in Cement, Oklahoma, son of Charles Floyd and Mary Catherine Rogers Ward. He married Phyllis Francis Moser July 5, 1937.

Harold worked in the family business until the outbreak of World War II. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the South Pacific. Following the war he took advantage of the GI Bill and attended Oklahoma State University graduating in 1952 with bachelor's and master's degrees in soils.

After graduation he went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation and moved his family to Riverton, Wyoming. Between 1954 and 1956 he led the land classification unit for the Yellowstone Dam site while living in Hardin, Montana. He continued working for the Bureau of Reclamation in Cody, Wyoming, Townsend, Mt., Great Falls, MT., and finally in Billings, MT., where he retired in 1978.

Harold had a passion for life, flowers, gold, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis M. Ward, of the home, 5 children: Charles and Sharon Ward of Centralia, Washington, Wayne and Beverly Ward of Thermopolis, Wyoming, Jim Ward of Great Falls, Montana, Steve and Sherry Ward of Great Falls, Montana, Sue and Tom Zack of Keller, Texas; sister, Gee and Floyd Norton of Anadarko, Oklahoma; brother, Kyle and Mary Ward of Duncan, Oklahoma, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Ann Ward.

Phyllis Francis "Tootie" [Moser] Ward

Graveside services for Phyllis Francis "Tootie" Ward, 83, former Cement resident, will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 2, 2003, at the Cement Cemetery, Cement, Oklahoma with Rev. Billy Ward, officiating.

Mrs. Ward died Thursday, September 25, 2003, in Keller, Texas.

Burial will be under the direction of Robbins Cement Chapel, Cement, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Ward was born October 12, 1919, in Cyril, Oklahoma to Barney and Rose "Orf" Moser. She married Harold Benjamin Ward on July 5, 1937, and Celebrated 65 years of marriage together. She lived on a farm, attending Caddo Pride School until 5th grade then attended and graduated from Cyril High School.

Phyllis was a life long homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, ceramics, knitting, embroidery, sewing, crocheting, quilting, camping, fishing, and hunting. She was well known for her various pickle recipes which she fondly named, Circle P's, Weird Albert's, Garlic Surprise, and Everlasting Hot Ones. She was also well respected for her pickled jalapenos. Phyllis was associated with Rebekah's Lodge and an active member of the Baptist Church. She was an avid card player who delighted in competition with Harold and "losing" gracefully to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: 5 children: Charles Ward and wife Sharon, Centralia, Washington; Wayne Ward and wife Beverly, Thermopolis, Wyoming; Jim Ward, Great Falls, Montana; Steve Ward and wife Sherry, Great Falls, Montana; Sue Zack and husband Tom, Keller, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Ward, and an infant daughter, Patricia Ann Ward.
