Thomas Sid Snugs

Funeral service for Thomas S. Snuggs, 77, Cement, will be 10:00 am Wednesday at the Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. John Zwolle, Pastor officiating.

Mr. Snuggs died Sunday at his home.

Burial will be at Cement Cemetery, Cement under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Fletcher.

He was born June 13, 1934 in Danville, Arkansas to Clifton James and Willie U.V. [Garner] Snuggs.

Mr. Snuggs served in the Navy from 1954 -1958.

He met his wife Pearl Ruth Clift on September 14, 1957, and they were married on September 21, 1957.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, hunting mushrooms and attending local ball games. He was a former member of the Cement City Council and also served on the Cement Fair Board. He retired from the Cement Volunteer Fire Department after 20 years. Mr. Snuggs was a member of the Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church. He and his wife were foster parents to many children through the years.

Mrs. Snuggs died on December 6, 2010.

He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Susan Snuggs, Anadarko; two grandchildren, Jami and her husband Scott Wharry, Elk City, and Cory Snuggs, Anadarko; a great grandson, Blake Wharry; two brothers, James C. and his wife Violet Snuggs, Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Gene Snuggs, Cement; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. His parents preceded him in death.

Pearl Ruth [Clift] Snuggs

Funeral for Pearl Ruth Snuggs, 76, Cement will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. John Zwolle, pastor officiating.

Mrs. Snuggs died Monday in Cement.

Burial will be in Cement Cemetery under the direction of Becker Cement Chapel.

She was born August 16, 1934 in Cement to Gordon Tillman and Thelma C. [Matlock] Clift.

She married Thomas S. Snuggs on September 21, 1957 in Sterling.

Mrs. Snuggs enjoyed camping and playing dominoes and games with friends and family. She was a member of the Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include her husband, of the home, a son, Jimmy Snuggs and his wife Susan, Anadarko, two grandchildren, Jami Wharry and her husband Scott, Elk City and Cory Snuggs, Anadarko, a great grandson, Blake Wharry, Elk City, five brothers and their spouses, Marvin and Marilyn Clift, Chickasha, Dale and Julie Clift, Arthur Clift and William and Theresa Clift, all of Cement and Kenneth and Debra Clift, Swink, Oklahoma and numerous, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Zelma Mae Hudson, Louise Parks and Shirley Akins and one brother, Robert Clift.
