Harry E. Sites

Funeral services will be held for Harry E. Sites, 80, of Cement at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Laurie Stinnett officiating.

Harry E. Sites was born in North Baltimore, Ohio, on August 4, 1931, to Omer Dale Sites & Octa Bonner Sites. He died on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at home in Cement.

Harry moved to Oklahoma with his family in 1937. He graduated from Cement Public Schools. He was employed as a roustabout in the oilfield for a time before and after his time with the United States Marine Corps in which he served from 1952 until 1955. In 1958 he went to work for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1993.

Also in 1958, on April 17, he married the love of his life and partner for over 54 years, Peggy Pooler, on the bride's twenty-first birthday at the Cement First Baptist Church.

Harry was a member of the Cyril Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a volunteer for 20 years with the Cement Volunteer Fire Department and the leader for Boy Scout Troop 357 out of Cement. He was also a member of the Cement United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by: both parents; an infant son; brother, Richard Sites; and three sisters, Evelyn Bledsoe, Joan Chaney and Dorthy Johnson.

Survivors include: wife, Peggy Sites of the home; two daughters, Desi Goldsmith & husband Rex, and Tonya Williams & husband James, all of Cement; one son, Rusty Sites & wife Jennifer of Cement; granddaughters, Taylor Sites of Alex, Jessica Frazier of Cement, and Jordan Frazier of Cement; grandsons, Jesse Sites of Alex, Josh Williams of Cement, and Josh & Teaha Frazier of Cement; great-grandchildren, Ryan Mackey, Hunter Mackey, and Presley Frazier all of Cement; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
