© Whinery~Huddleston Funeral Service Lawton, Oklahoma Monday, January 16, 2012 Mary Lee [Peirano] Savage Graveside service for Mary Lee Savage, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cement Cemetery with David Hale, pastor of Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs, officiating. She died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, in Comanche. Services are under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Barton, Kan., to Augustine and Pearl Gustus Peirano. She was raised and attended school in Wilson, Kan. She took college classes after graduation in Salina, Kan., and married John H. Savage Dec. 18, 1945, in Russell, Kan. She was a full-time wife and mother, but also helped in the farming operation, with wheat harvest, at the drive in theater, at their flea market and eventually as a part time agent at the tag agency between Elgin and Fletcher. She enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, playing cards (by her rules which were subject to change), but mostly spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: John Savage Jr. and Sandral, Beaux Bridge, La. and Murray Speed Savage and Cheryl, Marlow; two daughters and a son-in-law: Patricia White, Fort Cobb and Rosemary Mitchel and Don, Comanche; a brother and sister-in-law: Frank Peirano and Melva, Russell, Kan.; a sister and brother-in-law: Elenor Hunter and Donald, Wilson, Kan.; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a large extended family and many friends she developed through the years working at the Tag Agency and flea market. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, two sisters, four brothers, two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
