Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma December 24, 1996 Merl Calvin Russell Graveside services for Merl Calvin Russell, 72, were held yesterday in Cement Cemetery under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. He was born on September 10, 1924 in Leon, Kansas, the son of James Monroe and Amanda Jane [Littrell] Russell, and died on December 22, 1996 in Purcell. He was retired from Rock Island Railroad. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Eldon Clifford Russell; and his sisters, Ardith Elizabeth Russell, Eula May Boland, and Thelma Russell. He is survived by his sons, Billy Ray Russell of Ninnekah and Roy Dean Russell of Gracemont; his daughters, Sally Gayle Jackson of Ninnekah, Karen Jean Kunze of Marlow, Kathy Jo Gomez of Lawton, Peggy Arlene Bailey of Gracemont, Beth Ann Russell of Oklahoma City, and Donna Lynn Wright and Neva Kay Woodard, both of Chickasha; his brothers, Virgil Leroy Russell of Freedom, Ralph James Russell of Waynoka, and William Harley Russell of Ruskin, Florida; his sisters, Elsie Faye Vanderslice of Mooreland, Bonnie Dean Dutton of Winfield, Kansas, and Vernice Eloise Keffer of Dallas, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. |
