November 2013 Robert Lee "Bob" Mize Graveside services for Robert "Bob" Mize, 70, of Cement, OK will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Cement Cemetery with Toby Walker officiating. "Bob" Mize was born in Merced, California, on September 4, 1943, the son of Roland and Lillian [Hooper] Mize. He peacefully passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013, in Oklahoma City, OK. Bob grew up in California and as a young man he joined the Marines. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton and also served in Hawaii. Bob married Shirley Simmons on January 11, 1963 in Porterville, California, and came to live in the Cement area in 1976. Throughout his years, he was employed in construction, the oil field, and most recently as a truck driver. He retired in 2005. He enjoyed farming and taking care of his various animals, especially his dog Cocoa. He also enjoyed his great-grandsons, Jensen and Hudson. He was preceded in death by both parents, his brother Joe Mize, and his nephews Tommy and Rickey Mize. Bob is survived by his wife of fifty years, Shirley; his two daughters Sheila Mize and Barbara Koehler of Chickasha; two grandsons, Stephen Mize and wife Rhonda of Cement and Jacob Koehler of Chickasha; two great-grandsons, Jensen and Hudson Mize; three sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
