Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Friday, 8 September 2006 Doris Imogene [Clift] Marsh Funeral services for Doris Imogene Marsh, 78, of Washita, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2006, in the Grand Assembly of God Church, in Chickasha. Doris Marsh was born January 24, 1928, Northwest of Cement, Oklahoma the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle [Karnes] Clift. She died September 5, 2006 in Chickasha. She grew up in Cement and attended Cement and High View Schools. On August 14, 1946, at the Clift Family home in Cement, Oklahoma, Doris married the love of her life, Odie Marsh. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a woman with a sense of humor and she always had a smile on her face. She always found the good in everyone and everything. She truly enjoyed just spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, traveling, and she loved country and gospel music, often attending the Oklahoma Opry and other events. She was preceded in death by both parents; daughter, LaVern Jane Marsh; two brothers: Earl and Wayne Clift; three sisters: Zelma Clift, Mammie Morton, and Iva Baster. Survivors include her husband, Odie, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Dale and Linda Marsh, of Purcell and Ricky and Karren Marsh, of Duncan; two daughters; Glenda Capshew, of Pocasset and Jeanie Capshew, of Cyril; eleven grandchidren; ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
