Velma Lorene [Harris] Jones

Funeral service for Velma Lorene Jones, age 82, of Chickasha, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2004, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Hatfield officiated.

Velma Lorene Jones was born the daughter of Charley Frank Harris and Alpha Susan Clift on October 27, 1922, in Caddo County, Oklahoma. She died October 28, 2004, in Chickasha.

Velma married Earl C. Jones on December 10, 1941, in Fletcher, Oklahoma. During World War II, she moved to California and worked in the shipyards as a welder. She later moved to Coahoma, Texas. In 1960, she moved to Chickasha where she began working at Montgomery Wards as a clerk. She also managed the concession stand at Shannon Springs Park. Velma loved the outdoors. She also enjoyed bowling and was on the women's bowling league for thirty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Opal Daphene Dacus and Eva Hammonds, brother, Bobby Edward Harris, and her husband, Earl C. Jones.

Survivors include her brother, Virgil Harris and wife, Zella, of Chickasha; brother, Lee Harris and wife, Lorene, of Odessa, Texas; sister, Elaine Felton, of Chickasha; numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment was in the Cement Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Vickey Jo [Cogburn] Jones

Vickey Jo Jones was born December 12, 1957 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Tressa [Reynolds] and Floyde Cogburn and passed away March 13, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 48.

Vickey was preceded by her paternal grandparents, Lonnie Floyde Cogburn and Gertrude Koehler-Cogburn.

She is survived by her mother, Tressa Wright of Cyril, OK and her father, Floyde Cogburn of Cement, OK; one son, Lonnie Dwayne Belfling of Chickasha, OK; three daughters, Talana Rebecca Belfling of Norman, OK; Alexandria Michelle Jones and Lydia Danielle Jones; special friend and companion, Chris Meachum of Chickasha, OK; two grandchildren, Jacob and Marie; two brothers, Jackie Lynn Cogburn of Cement, OK; and Floyde Shane Cogburn of Cyril, OK; her maternal grandparents, Curtis and Helen Ely of Cyril, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service will be Friday, March 17, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cement, Oklahoma.

Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Hodge Funeral Home in Fletcher, Oklahoma.
