Donald Joe Heald
Donald Joe Heald, age 77, of Chickasha, OK died Sunday, February 6, 2005 in Chickasha. Mr. Heald was born Monday, April 11, 1927 in Cyril, OK, the son of the late Cecil Heald and the late Mildred [Mowdy] Heald.
Joe was married to Betty Jean [Keeton] Heald on November 18, 1947 in Evening Shade, AR.
Joe was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church. He was employed as a carpenter by Auora Apartments.
Joe lived in the Rush Springs/Chickasha area most of his life. He attended Sperling Grade School and Rush Springs High School.
Joe Joined the US Navy in 1945. He was a platoon leader at San Diego, CA Naval Base. He served time in China during WW II. Joe loved to fish.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Heald of Chickasha, OK; three sons, Ronald Joe Heald of Marlow, OK, Kenny Dale Heald of Norman, OK, and Bobby Daryle Heald and wife, Darla of McLoud, OK; daughter, Vickie Sue Smitherman and husband, John (Bubba) of Longstreet, LA; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Doyle Heald and Dale Heald.
Services will be held at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs, Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Chuck Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Cement Cemetery. Pallbearers include Matt Heald, Keith Heald, Erick Heald, Joe Don Heald, Edd Keaton, and Bill Stapp. Honorary bearers are Kyle Ward, Harry Sites, John Martin, and Jim Morris.
