January 2008 Lucille L. [Hendershot] Golden STERLING: Graveside service for Lucille L. Golden, 88, Sterling, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cement Cemetery with John Kerr officiating. Mrs. Golden died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in a Lawton hospital. Arrangements are under direction of Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher. She was born June 23, 1920, in Fanshawe, to Lane and Melissa Scrivner Hendershot. She married Ernest William "Bunt" Golden on Nov. 6, 1937, in Visalia, Calif. He died May 6, 1991. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Leona L. and James Hoover, Sterling; and two sons and a daughter-in-law: William L. and Peggy R. Golden, Goose Creek, S.C.; and Donald W. Golden, Sterling; six grandchildren: Olen R. Hoover, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Shirley A. Batten and husband Stacy, Little River, S.C.; Carl W. Hoover and wife Martha, Sterling; Katrina M. Payo, Joy Smith, and William Joseph Golden, all of Goose Creek; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. |
