He came to Indian Territory in 1898, and lived near Norman until 1901 when he moved to Cement. He was married to Ida Jane Warner in September, 1894, at Delon. Twelve children were born to them. He was preceded in death by his wife and seven children. He is survived by two sons, Clinton Edwards, Cyril, and Frank Edwards of Anadarko; three daughters, Mrs. Sam Coon, Carnegie, Mrs. W.F. Dietrich, Anadarko, and Mrs. A.P. Mullinax, Mountain View. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 1, 1955 Ida Gusta Jane [Warner] Edwards Funeral Service Is In Anadarko For Mrs. Edwards Funeral services for Mrs. L.L. Edwards, Cement, were Monday, May 23 at 2 p.m. in the Smith Funeral chapel in Anadarko. Burial was made in the Cement cemetery. Mrs. Edwards died in an Anadarko hospital. She had suffered a broken hip three months ago and since that time had been in ill health. Ida Gust Jane Warner was born in Comanche county, Texas, March 4, 1880. She was married to L.L. Edwards Sept. 5, 1894 and to them 12 children were born, six of whom preceded their mother in death. Survivors include the husband at home; three sons, Jasper and Clinton of Mountain View; and Frank of Cement; and three daughters, Josephine Dietrich, Clinton; Jessie Mae Mullinax, Mountain View; and Opal Coon, Carnegie. Also surviving are 16 grand children and nine great grandchildren. |

Edwards, Mountain View, brother of Mrs. Sam Coon of Carnegie were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Smith Funeral chapel, Anadarko. Rev. J.C. Earl, Cyril, officiated. Burial was a Cement. Edwards, 63 years of age, died early Thursday morning at his home on Route 2, Mountain View. He was an active farmer at the time of his death and was a veteran of World War I. He was born August 26, 1895, at Palestine, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Maggie, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Leon Evans, Cordell; three sons, Richard A. of the home, S-Sgt. William H. of Albany, Ga., and Louie L. of Mountain View; his father, Louis Edwards of Cement; two grandchildren; two brothers, Frank of Anadarko, and Clinton, Mountain View; three sisters, Mrs. Bill Dietrich, Anadarko, Mrs. Pat Mullinax, Mountain View, and Mrs. Coon, Carnegie. |

In 1938 he was married to Miss Nora Koon at Longview, Texas, where he resided until 1941. At that time he went into the Air Force where he served five years with 34 months overseas. He was a member of the First Baptist church at Longview, the IOOF lodge at Cement and of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Had one daughter, Dianne Elaine, Longview; one brother, Clinton Edwards, Cyril; three sisters, Mrs. Opal Coon, Carnegie, Mrs. W.F. Dietrich, Anadarko, and Mrs. A.P. Mullinax, Mountain View. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday,October 1, 1975 Daniel Clinton Edwards Kin of Local Woman Dies Funeral services for Daniel Clinton Edwards, 59, of Anadarko, a brother of Mrs. Sam Coon of Carnegie, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church at Anadarko with Rev. David Forester, pastor, and Rev. Don Wright, officiating. Burial was in the Cement Cemetery. Edwards was born Sept. 27, 1915 in Cyril and died Saturday in Waurika from an apparent heart attack. He had lived in the Cyril area all his life. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Ida, of the home; two daughters, Azalea Jane Brookshire, Cyril, and Helen Odette Fanning, Flagstaff, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Dietrich, Anadarko, and Mrs. Sam Coon of Carnegie; and four grandchildren. |
The Men & Women in WWII from Kiowa County Louie L. Edwards Louie L. Edwards, son of Mr. & Mrs. Jasper W. Edwards, husband of the former Charleene Stevens, graduated from Mtn. View High School and attended Carnegie Jr. College. He entered the Army in October 1942, trained in Hawaii, San Francisco CA and Ft. Houston TX, and served in Guadalcanal, New Britain and New Guinea. |

Rev. Randy McFarland will officiate. George Frank Edwards was born Sept. 2, 1945, in Fletcher, and died on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, in Lawton. Burial will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. |
