© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Monday, November 6, 2006 Ola May Clift February 21, 1917 ~ November 4, 2006 Funeral service for Ola May Clift, 89, Cement, will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Fletcher Christian Church, with Jim Hall, Minister and her nephew, Donald L. Clift, Amarillo, Texas, officiating. She died Saturday in Purcell. Burial will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher ,formerly Robbins Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. She was born February 21, 1917 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to W. C. and Alpha Myrtle [Karnes] Clift. She was a homemaker, a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cement, and was active with Cement Senior Citizens. She is survived by five brothers and sisters: Hazel Johnson of San Antonio, TX; Glen Clift and his wife Jerri of Lexington, OK; Wilma Acton of Lawton, OK; Pauline Morris of Elgin, OK and Don R. Clift and his wife Rebecca of Lexington, OK. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Viola Clift of Odessa, TX and Amy Clift of Cleburne, TX, a brother-in-law, Odie Marsh of Fort Cobb, OK, and many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Earl and Wayne, and four sisters, Lorene, Iva, Mayme and Doris. © Wilson-Little Funeral Home Purcell, Oklahoma April 2023 August 1, 1938 ~ April 19, 2023 Rebecca “Becky” Lee [Sconyers] Clift passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, surrounded by her family. Becky was born on August 1, 1938 in Cement, Oklahoma. She was the 2nd of 3 girls born to Lee Roy Sconyers and Dorothy Mae [Dean] Igo. She attended school in Cement and met her life partner there as well. On July 28, 1955 Becky married her best friend and soul mate D.R. Clift. The couple made their home in Lexington in 1967. They have been active in the Lexington community and church for the past 54 years. Together the couple raised 4 terrific sons, who meant the world to Becky. Becky and D.R. were married 68 beautiful years. She worked as a rural carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 27 years before she retired. Becky had a servant’s heart and was happy to serve others any way she could. She always went above and beyond serving those on her route, checking in on them and just loving them. Becky lived her life by a motto that she wrote in her Bible, “You can have the whole world but give me Jesus”. Her life was a true reflection of Jesus. Everyone that knew her was blessed by her. Becky loved her family and friends with all her heart and cherished each moment spent with them. She enjoyed sharing her God-given talent of quilting with families and friends and made over 230 quilts in her lifetime. She will forever be remembered by family as making the absolute best homemade chicken and dumpings you ever tasted. Becky was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lexington for 54 years and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Becky is preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Sconyers; her mother, Dorothy Mae [Dean] Igo; her sons, George Clift and Donald Clift; her daughter-in-law, Jana Clift; and her brother-in-law, Freeman Roberts. Becky is survived by her loving husband, D.R. Clift of the home; her sons, Roger Clift [Mary Sue Adams] of Eureka, Montana and Mark Clift [Misty Puls] of Dallas, Texas; her sisters, Jacquita Roberts of Lawton, and Rowanna Hargus and husband Dale of Blanchard; grandchildren, Bryan Clift [Jana], Kari Figueroa [Felix], Megan Newbern [Mark], Shayla Paradise [Zach], Skyla Williams [Lee], Chad Clift [Christin], Christi Eaton [Daniel], Lindsey Truelove [Matt], Grant Clift [Savannah] and Tori Hensley [Dillon], 18 great-grandchildren and a host of friends that she loved as family. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Valir Hospice Care for their kind support and care for Becky during her illness. The family will be receiving friends and family on Sunday, April 23rd from 3-5 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Lexington First Baptist Church at 10:00 am Monday, April 24, 2023. Burial Services will follow at 2:30 pm at Cement Cemetery. December 2011 Marvin Gayle Clift October 19, 1945 ~ December 2, 2011 CHICKASHA — Funeral services for Marvin Gayle Clift, 66, of Chickasha, will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Walker officiating. Marvin Gayle Clift was born October 19, 1945, in Cement, the son of Gordon Tillman Clift and Thelma Cornelia Matlock Clift. He died Friday, December 2, 2011, at home in Chickasha. Marvin grew up in Cement and graduated from Cement High School in 1966. He later was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam for two years. He married Beverly Kay Stroud on Sept. 9, 1971, in Anadarko. They were married for 25 years and from this union their son Michael was born. Marvin was employed with Sequoyah Mills around 1974 and later with Maremont- Gabriel Ride until his retirement in 2005 after 30 years of service. He was also married for a time to Marilyn Grissam. Marvin had many hobbies and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing dominoes, four wheeling, watching basketball, participating in bowling leagues, garage saling and collecting items. He is preceded in death by both parents; four sisters, Zelma Mae Hutson, Pearl Ruth Snuggs, Shirley Irene Akins, and Wilma Louise Parks; and one brother, Robert Lee Clift. Survivors include son Michael Clift of Cyril and four brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Julie Clift of Cement, Kenneth and Debbra Clift of Swink, Arthur Clift of Cement, and William and Theresa Clift also of Cement. Grandchildren include Martina Grissam, Chelsea Grissam, and Ema Rose Grissam, all of Pocasset. Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma August 2013 Bonnie Sue "Bones" [Cooper] Clift January 17, 1955 ~ August 3, 2013 Funeral for Bonnie Sue "Bones" Clift, 58, Cement, will be at 10:00 am Thursday, August 8, 2013 in the Cement Schools Auditorium, with Rev. Mike Bates, Pastor of the Rush Springs Assembly of God officiating. Bonnie passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 in an Oklahoma City hospital. Burial will be in the Cement Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Cement Chapel. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the chapel in Cement. She was born January 17, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to W.L. "Doc" and Gertrude [White] Cooper. She attended Cement Public Schools, and graduated in 1973. She married Arthur Duwayne Clift on January 16, 1976. She worked at Hood's Meat Market, Chickasha Nursing Center, various other nursing homes, a meat processing plant in Chickasha, and loved to baby sit many children in the Cement area. She is survived by her children's father, Arthur Clift of Cement, OK, two sons, Lee Clift of Vinita, OK, Allen Clift and wife Jamie of Cement, OK, two grandchildren, Taylor Clift and Cole McCollough, four sisters Ann Butler and husband Tommy of Chickasha, OK, Jacquelyn Hargus and husband John of Cement, OK, Marla Mahler and Tammy Cooper of Chickasha, OK, three brothers Bobby Cooper and wife Peggy of Eufala, OK, Howard Cooper and wife Carol of Cement, OK, Lynn Cooper and wife Debbie of Chickasha, OK, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Sharon Faye Wright and Jean (Jeanie Weenie) Cooper. |
