Lawton, Oklahoma January 2018 February 20, 1952 ~ January 25, 2018 DeLorna Jean Strong, 65, Lawton, went to her heavenly home early Thursday morning, Jan. 25, 2018, in the arms of her loving husband, Curtis. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2018, at the Comanche Community Center in Apache with Lance Silverhorn officiating. Burial will follow at Cache Creek KCA Cemetery, west of Apache, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. All night wake is at 7 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the community center in Apache. DeLorna was born February 20, 1952, in Anadarko, to Deloran Wayne and Mary [Archilita-Tsatahsisko] Williams. She attended Boone Grade School and graduated from Apache High School in 1970. DeLorna received her Bachelor of Science degree and Associate's degree in nursing at Cameron University. DeLorna was director of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program for the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma for 25 years. DeLorna enjoyed going to powwows, singing Apache hymns, spending time with her family especially the grandkids, going to garage sales and going to Goodwill. She was a member of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, president of the Apache Service Club, member of the Apache Tribe Princess Sorority and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, CANAR, and she was the Apache Princess in 1967 and also the Apache Princess in 1968. DeLorna is survived by her husband, Curtis Strong, of the home; three children: Shineesta Rose Williams, Curtis Neal Strong Jr., and Charles Matthew Strong; grandchildren: Breanna, Aubrey, Haylee, T.J., Shane, Dakota, and DeLilah Dee; aunt, Sandra Marroquin; two sisters: LaQuinta Holcomb, and Threase Simmons; nieces: Sara, Darla, Araminta and Jamie; and nephews: Seth, Chad, Baby Derrel, JoJo, David and John Michael. She has seven "special brothers": Edmond Mahseet, Stanley Holder, Lyle Cook, Jimmy Warne, August Martin, and June and Gene Sovo; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Freddie Archilta Tsatahsisko and Julia Mulkehay; one daughter, Clarice Lynette Williams; parents: Rocco Pace and Mary Archilta Tsatahsisko; three brothers: Nathan, Rocky and Derrel; sister, Nathalene "Nat;" nephews: Nathaniel, D.J. and Ralph; two aunts: Martha Banderas and Imo Gene Reyna; two uncles: Chico Banderas and Reno Reyna; and special brother, Virgil Swift. Visitation will began at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at the Comanche Community Center, Apache. |
