Lawton, Oklahoma Wednesday, March 02, 2011 ebruary 1, 1955 ~ February 26, 2011 WICHITA, Kan. Funeral for Carroll Lee Starr, 56, Wichita, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel, Lawton, with the Rev. Sharon Yeahquo, pastor of Hunting Horse United Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. Starr went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, February 26, 2011, as a result of a tragic vehicle accident. Burial will be at Cache Creek KCA Cemetery, five miles west of Apache. Carroll entered this life Feb. 1, 1955, in Lawton, the son of Myra Yellowfish Burgess and Harold Lee Starr. He attended schools in Lawrence, Kan., graduating from Lawrence High School. Carroll was a contract laborer in earlier years and was a "Born Again Christian." He was affiliated with Forever Crowned Ministries of Wichita, Kan., and his emphasis was street ministry. Carroll was a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma and was a direct descendant of Yellowfish, Crooked Finger, Au-oin-ty, Bolo and Frank Haunkaheo. Carroll is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law: Sandra and Jose Gallegos, of Apache; Loretta Burgess, of Owasso; and Denise and Vincent Lawrence, Lee's Summit, Mo.; one brother, Howard Todome Jr., of Tulsa; and one adopted brother, Tommee Sherwood, of Kansas; seven nephews: Joaquin Gallegos, Allan Jo Burgess, Terrance Todome, Ellis "Audie" Todome, Edward George, Douglas Todome and John David Lawrence; seven nieces: Tasha Gallegos, Tamyra Gallegos, Felicia Gallegos, Alisha Sutton-Melton, Alonna Sutton, Harmony Burgess-Smith and Antoinette George. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myra Burgess and Harold Starr; grandparents; three brothers: Edward Allan Burgess, Jim Todome and Spencer Lee Todome; and one sister, Janice Todome. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. |
