Anadarko, Oklahoma Friday, July 29, 2011 June 9, 1962 ~ July 27, 2001 ANADARKO Funeral for Marilyn June Eckiwaudah, 49, Anadarko, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Victory Assembly of God, Anadarko, with the Rev. Amen Harjo officiating. Ms. Eckiwaudah was called from labor at her earthly home to reward on Wednesday evening, July 27, 2011. Burial will be in Cache Creek KCA Intertribal Cemetery, west of Apache, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home of Lawton. Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Victory Assembly of God. Marilyn entered this life on June 9, 1962, in Lawton, the beloved daughter of Larriel Dean "LD" Eckiwaudah Sr. and Betty June Chalepah. She was reared in Anadarko, attending Anadarko Public Schools as well as Riverside Indian School and Fort Sill Indian School. She went to work for Friendship Manor as a nurse's aide. She met her companion, Victor "Buddy" Ahtone, and they made their home in Anadarko. Marilyn was a member of the Delaware Nation and of Kiowa, Comanche and Apache descent. She enjoyed hanging with her friends, listening to music and babysitting her grandkids. She was a remarkable woman who never met a stranger and will be missed greatly by all her friends and family. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Morgan James and wife, Sunshine Eckiwaudah, Myron Douglas Wahnee Jr., Mylene Deona Wahnee, Malcome Joseph Wahnee and Mia Denise Ahtone, all of Anadarko; her sister, Tami Lynn Eckiwaudah, of Anadarko; her brother and sister-in-law, Larriel Dean Eckiwaudah Jr., and Angela Eckiwaudah, of Anadarko; four grandchildren: Lucious Eckiwaudah, Major Eckiwaudah, Vanna Betty Eckiwaudah and Mylah Ricker, all of Anadarko; her niece, Cherica Eckiwaudah, of Anadarko; as well as many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents: Alfred Chalepah Sr. and Leota Evelyn Oyebi Chalepah; and her paternal grandparents: Nathan Eckiwaudah and Mary Hoag Eckiwaudah. Visitaion will be from 3-7 p.m. today at Victory Assembly of God, Anadarko. |
