Earl Chasenah
September 11, 1927 ~ September 26, 2013


Funeral for Earl Chasenah, 86, Lawton, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mt. Scott Comanche United Methodist Church with the Rev. Leslie Claborn officiating.

Mr. Chasenah passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at his home.

Burial with military honors will follow at Cache Creek KCA Cemetery, Apache, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

Mr. Chasenah was born September 11, 1927, in Lawton, to Emma Eckiwaudah and Arthur Chasenah. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from January 1946 to September 1947. He served with Headquarters Squadron, 6th Air Service Group 13 Air Force, Florida; and Blanca Army Air Force Base, Philippine Islands. He received the World War II Victory Medal.

He was a member of the Comanche Nation. He enjoyed playing hand games with the group six pack.

He is survived by children: Ernest Chasenah and wife Su, of Chickasha; Misty Dawn Chasenah and companion Telesforo Diaz-Lopez, of Newkirk; Dusty Chasenah, Mario Chasenah, and Alicia Chasenah, all of Apache; grandchildren: Ines Diaz-Lopez, Abel Diaz-Lopez, Nicholas Chasenah, Shamia and husband, Wade McClelland; Stihl Chasenah, Tristen Chasenah, Robert and wife Gabrielle McCracken; Kenneth McCracken, Michael McCracken, Bryan McCracken; great-grandchildren: Dixon McClelland, Memphis McClelland and Adlynn McCracken. He loved his nieces and nephews dearly. He has a host of nephews, nieces and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: four brothers and six sisters; and a grandchild, Kelton Kade Chasenah-Pierce.

Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel.

Oris Samuel Chasenah
February 7, 1935 ~ September 2, 2011


APACHE Funeral for Oris Samuel Chasenah, 76, Apache, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Scott Comanche UMC Church with the Rev. Tori Dean officiating.

Mr. Chasenah died Friday, Septembefr 2, 2011, in Lawton.

A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial with military honors will be at Cache Creek KCA Cemetery west of Apache.

He was born February 7, 1935, in Apache to Arthur and Emma Eckiwaudah Chasenah.

He grew up in the Lake Lawtonka area. He attended school at New Hope Elementary School, Elgin School and graduated from La Puente Valley Adult High School and graduated from the Molar Barber College in Los Angeles, Calif.

He served in the Marine Corps from Sept. 21,1953, until September 20, 1957, earning the rank of sergeant. He was a fleet Marine and his first assignment was with the Anti-Tank Company, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division at Middle Camp Fuji, Japan, and additional duties include service at Naha, Okinawa, and Chunae Meyong, Korea. His awards include the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal and the Expert Qualification Badge with Rifle.

He was a member of the Comanche Nation, C.I.V.A., Mount Scott Comanche UMC and served on the Comanche Business Committee. He was an original member of the 6 pack and a current member of the 12 pack handgame team and they won several state handgame tournaments.

He enjoyed riding his bicycle, reading, collecting hats, spending time with family and friends. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves and Oklahoma University Sooners.

Survivors include a brother, Earl Chasenah, Lawton; a son, Rupert Nibbs, Lawton; a daughter, Bernadette Nibbs, Lawton; five grandchildren: Rocinda, Britney, Gregory, Evashawn and Alexander; two great-grandchilren: Tommy Samuel and Ranyttah; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, hand game members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Koomsa; his parents; three brothers and six sisters.

Friends may call from 1-6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Frankie Lee Chasenah
March 24, 1955 ~ December 9, 2013


ELGIN Funeral for Frankie Lee Chasenah, 58, of Elgin, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Watchetaker Hall with Lay Person Tina Baker officiating.

Burial will follow at Cache Creek KCA Cemetery, Apache, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.

Frankie went to his heavenly home Monday, December 9, 2013.

All night wake/prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Watchetaker Hall.

He was born March 24, 1955, in Lawton, to Jeanette [Connahvichah] and John Chasenah.

He grew up in the Elgin area. He attended Stony Point School and was a janitorial worker at Lawton Indian Hospital.

Frankie enjoyed singing, listening to oldies but goodies, liked to go country dancing and enjoyed his spending time with his nieces. Unsee, whom he raised from a baby, changed her diapers and took her into the Teepee, was his favorite niece.

Frankie was a proud member of the Comanche Nation, Comanche Native American Church, Chapter 19, Comanche Gourd Clan, Comanche Spur Handgame Team, Whitewolf Esa Rosa, and Chasenah descendant.

He is survived by one daughter, Desarae High, of Carnegie; six grandchildren: Devin Whitewolf, Charles Whitewolf, Jesse Couturier Jr., Phillip Couturier, Vino Rae Couturier and Cochise Couturier; brothers and sisters: Lewis Chasenah, John H. and Betty Chasenah, Ronald and Mari Chasenah Sr. all of Lawton; Gerald and Donna Chasenah, of Weatherford; Gary Chasenah Sr., of Elgin; Donald and Cassandra Chasenah, of Cyril; Mary J. Chasenah, of Walters; Linda and Larney Silverhorn, of Elgin; Kenneth and Pamela Chasenah, of Cache; Tommy and Jan Chasenah Sr., of Lawton; and Mike and Lydia Blackstar, of Apache; aunts: Joyce Gooday, Jolene Motah Guiterez, Sandy Karty, Ruth Toahty and Carol Motah Kahrahrah; uncles: Phibert McCloud, Hammon Motah, Gaylon Motah and Wallace Coffee; great-great-grandfather, Thomas Blackstar; and special nephew, Ryan Blackstar, of Apache.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Jeanette [Connahvichah] Chasenah; uncle, Garrett Connahvichnah, Mary (Powwetipe) and Louis Connahvichnah; great-grandparents: Arthur and Emma Chasenah; two aunts: Thelma Connahvichnah and Mary PeeWee Padocony; uncles: James Chasenah, Oris Chasenah, and Earl Chasenah; two sisters: Wilma Blackowl and Rietta Fisty Fawbush; and brother, Timothy Wayne Chasenah.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
