Esther [Sankadota] Archilta
March 4, 1931 ~ July 1, 2016


Funeral services for Esther Archilta will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Comanche Community Center in Apache, Oklahoma with Bro. Tim Nestell, officiating. Burial will follow at the Cache Creek Cemetery near Apache. A prayer service will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Comanche Community Center from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Monte "JR" Mammedaty Jr., Justin White Eagle, Jeremy Aitson, Joshua Mammedaty, Cody Archilta, Aaron Archilta, and Ricky Yokesuite.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Cecelio Otero, Roderick "Punchie" Churchill, Thomas Juarez, Jesse Jones, Elton White Eagle, Kendall Washburn, Phillip-Harold Archilta, Cameron Tee-Tonemah and Lendy Koassechoney.

Esther was born March 4, 1931 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Clarence and Maggie [Tainpeah] Sankadota. She passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Carnegie Hospital at the age of 85.

Esther married Harold Archilta-Tutstsisah Sr. in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1993.They celebrated 47 wonderful years together.

Esther's hobbies included watching the OU Sooners, which was her favorite team and Sam Bradford whom was referred to as "her boy", going to the casino and playing bingo, attending pow-wows and sewing. She also enjoyed music. One of her favorites was Rod Stewart, "Maggie May".

She was a wonderful homemaker and a very proud member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. So proud that it would often lead to "heated discussions" during home visits with family friends and relatives, George & Vivian Komardley. With the "Kiowa's" [Esther & Vivian] against the "Apaches", [Harold & George], the children never knew who won the argument as it would always end in laughter.

Esther was a loving, devoted and strong willed wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her extended family members.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Byron "KC" Archilta and "Chipper" Archilta of Apache; three daughters: Regina Archilta and Julie Archilta-White Eagle, both of Apache and Lucinda Archilta-Juarez of Sterling; 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Washburn and Patsy Tebauno, both of Apache along with many other relatives and friends.

Waiting to receive her at Heaven's Gate were her husband, Harold Archilta-Tutstsisah Sr., son, Esmond Archilta, daughters: Sherrill Yokesuite, Jeanetta Elaine and Doris Jean "DJ" Archilta; parents: Clarence and Maggie Sankadota; brother, Milton Sankadota and grandson, Bobby Archilta.

Byron Keith Archilta
June 6, 1953 ~ January 9, 2021


Byron Keith "KC" Archilta, a resident of the rural Boone-Apache gained his angel wings on January 9, 2021 at the age of 67. Byron "KC" was born to Harold Archilta-Tutstsisah, Sr and Esther Sankadota Archilta on June 6, 1953.

Byron "KC" graduated from Apache High School, Apache, OK.

KC enjoyed watching the OU Sooners, Dallas Cowboys and especially attending and watching the Apache Warriors.

He enjoyed working on his lawnmowers as he kept the family homesite yard well maintained.

KC was a very kind & humble person who did not hesitate whenever or wherever help was needed.

He will be especially missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to whom he assisted with "Pocket Change" during school activities or whatever activities they may have been involved in.

KC is survived his: Sisters: Regina Archilta, Anadarko, OK; Julie White Eagle, Apache, OK; Lucinda Juarez, Sterling, OK, Brother: Harold Archilta-Tutstsisah, Jr, Apache, OK, KC's favorite pet: Sam, 20 Nieces and Nephews, 35 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, as well, as numerous other family relatives.

KC was met at the Gates of Heaven by: his parents, Harold Archilta-Tutstsisah, Sr & Esther: sisters; Sherrill Rose Archilta-Yokesuite, Janette Elaine Archilta, Doris Jean "DJ" Archilta: brother, Esmond Lamont Archilta: nephew, Bobby Lee Archilta. His paternal grandparents, Jonas Bill Archilta-Tutstsisah & Regina Komardley Archilta: Maternal grandparents, Clarence Sankadota and Maggie Tainpeah Sankadota: as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Byron/KC's Nephews: Ricky Yokesuite, Jeremy Aitson, Justin White Eagle, Monte "JR" Mammedaty, Joshua Mammedaty & Phillip - Harold Archilta.

Markell LeWayne "Mark" Archilta
October 10, 1961 ~ March 3, 2023


Markell "Mark" LeWayne Archilta, 61, passed away March 3, 2023 at his home in Anadarko, OK. He was born October 10, 1961 Lawton, OK to Francella Archilta Palmer.

Mark was raised by his grandparents Bill and Ethelene Archilta.

He attended and graduated from Anadarko school in 1979.

Mark loved music, motorcycles and working on cars.

He was a member of the Apache Tribe.

Mark has a daughter, Amber Nicole Archilta, companion Gary Parker Jr. and 3 grandchildren.

He was raised on Kansas Street and was known as a Kansas Street kid.

Mark is preceded in death by his: mother, Francella Archilta Palmer; sister, Carolyn Palmer; brother Ronnie Palmer; niece Tamra Dawn Palmer.

Mark is survived by his: Daughter: Amber Nicole Archilta, Granddaughter: Makayla and Sunda, Grandson, Trey Parker. Sister: Cindy Huder, OKC, OK; Debbie Palmer, Anadarko, OK; Mary Ann Palmer, Anadarko, OK. Brothers: Erwin Dixon Palmer, Anadarko, OK; Danny Charles Palmer, Piverton, WY. Special Nephew: Willie Tapedo, Anadarko, OK . Special Sister:Jensie Lonewolf. Nieces: Patricia Cotter OKC, OK; Brooke Withers, OKC OK; Christina Galvan, OKC, OK; Dawn Marle Gomez, Anadark, OK.
