© Lawton Constitution Lawton, Oklahoma Lawton Ritter~Dalton Funeral Home ~ Lawton OK December 2009 July 24, 1977 ~ December 1, 2009 APACHE Funeral for Tahkony Oliver John "TJ" Alvarado-Attocknie, 32, Apache, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Comanche Community Center of Apache. Mr. Alvarado-Attocknie died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, in Lawton. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at United Methodist "Mahsetky" Church of Apache. Burial will be at Cache Creek Indian Cemetery west of Apache under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. He was born July 24, 1977, in Lawton to Phyllis Ann Attocknie and Wadie Lee Buckley. He was a caregiver, an uncle and a part-time artist. He never met a stranger, and kept those he met close to his heart. He was a direct descendant of Ten Bears and Yellowfish. He was a member of the Don't Wear Moccasin Clan of the Yapa-thukah Band of Comanches. Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Attocknie; three brothers: Patrick Elton Voris Attocknie, Norman; Anthony Ray Alvarado, Lawton; and Asa Albert Attocknie, Vacaville, Calif.; a sister and brother-in-law, Pfc. Rozanna Rae and Richard Attocknie, Fort Riley, Kan.; his grandmother, Rosalie Attocknie, Apache; three aunts: Vidala Franklin, Esa Attocknie and Virginia Whiteman; two uncles: Randy Attocknie and Richard Attocknie; four special nieces and nephews: Mame-Neta, Skye Man, Annarose and Jadyn Michael; a granddaughter, Syanne Ellaraye; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews and a family of brothers and sisters of the heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Wadie Lee Buckley; his maternal grandfather, Francis "Joe A" Attocknie; an uncle, Francis "Bah-bah" Joseph Attocknie Jr.; his maternal great-grandparents: Albert and Isa Yellowfish Attocknie and Ella Nahdooahnippah and Voris "Bill" Codopony; his great-grandfather, Bruce Poolaw; and his beloved pet, Vicious. |
