Pearlie Naomi [Watkins] Stone

Mrs. Pearlie Stone Dies Monday Night After Long Illness

Mrs. O.T. Stone died at 8:35 p.m. Monday night after suffering ill health for the past three years. Services were at 3 p.m. in the Baptist church Wednesday under direction of the Pitcher Funeral Home and burial was in the Carnegie cemetery. Rev. Frank Elkins, pastor, was assisted in the services by E.P. Chapman.

Pearlie Naomi Watkins was born March 15, 1908, near Cowden. Her parents moved to Shawnee and later to Georgia, returning to the Cowden community in 1920.

She was married to O.T. Stone Nov. 6, 1924, at Anadarko. They lived in Lindsay from 1924, at Anadarko. They lived in Lindsay from 1924 to 1933 and made their home in Shawnee and other places before returning to Carnegie to make their home in January, 1945.

Mrs. Stone was a member of the Missionary Baptist church with membership in the Hopewell Baptist church of Shawnee.

She is survived by her husband, O.T.; two sons, Robert Roland and Vernon Dale; three brothers, Hayden and Buford Watkins, Whitestone, Ga., and Harley Watkins, Marietta, Ga., and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Tatum, Whitestone, and Mrs. Bessie Radford, Carnegie.

Among those from out of town attending the funeral were Hayden Watkins and Mrs. Elizabeth Akins and Mrs. Della Anderson of Washita, sisters of Mr. Stone.

Don Harland Stone

Services Are Held For Infant Son Of Former Residents

Services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Nazarene church in Carnegie for Don Harland Stone, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Stone, San Diego, California. Rev. Bob Williams, pastor, officiated and Pitcher Funeral Home was in charge of interment in the Carnegie cemetery.

Don, 2 year old, was born August 23, 1954, at Carnegie. He had moved with his parents to San Diego last year and had undergone surgery in a San Diego hospital a short time before his death Thursday.

He is survived by his parents; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Mullinex and Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Stone; one uncle, Vernon Dale Stone.
