Glenna L. [Thys] Stenger

Funeral services for Mrs. R. W. Stenger were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, February 2, at the First Methodist Church. Rev. Elson P. Hargrove, pastor, officiated and interment was in the Carnegie Cemetery with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge.

Glenna Lucille Thys was born January 20, 1922, near Eakly and died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday January 30, in Wesley Hospital, Oklahoma City, at the age of 42 years and 10 days.

She was married to R. W. Stenger, May 25, 1944, and to them one son, Carroll Roland was born.

Glenna was graduated from Eakly high school, attended Carnegie Junior College and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern State College, Weatherford. She had been a member of the Carnegie school faculty until last November when ill health forced her retirement. She had been teaching for the past 15 years, the last nine and one-half in the local system.

She was a member of FFA and Bank Mothers clubs a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and had been an active member of the Methodist church since February 10, 1932. She was a member of the church choir, never failing to accept any responsibility in the church when asked.

She is survived by her husband and the son, Carroll of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Thys, three aunts, Mrs. George Kaufman, Mrs. Angie Cole and Miss Ella Thys, all of Carnegie, and an uncle, Emile Thys of Hurst, Texas.

Caroline Mae [Hancock] Stenger

Caroline Mae Stenger, 87, of Carnegie, OK passed away Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 at the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital. She was born August 18th, 1925 to George and Lillie May [Bilyeu] Hancock in Eakly, OK.

She attended Mountain View Schools and also Sedan Schools

She married Thomas Venson Davis in 1944 and he preceded her in death on March 05,1959. She later on was united in marriage to Roland Wilford Stenger in 1969 who also preceded her in death on August 23, 1999.

Caroline worked as head cook for Carnegie Schools for twenty two years. She enjoyed preparing meals and making cinnamon rolls for everyone. Caroline was an encourager and was always helping those in need. Her family and friends were the love of her life. Caroline also liked helping with the farming and cattle. Caroline was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carnegie, OK. Survivors include her son, Thomas Wayne Davis and wife, Peggy, Carnegie, OK two grandchildren, Shaun Davis and wife, Brooke, Carnegie, OK Shane Davis, Carnegie, OK step-son, Carroll Stenger and wife, Dorinda, Carnegie, OK two step-grandsons, Dace Stenger and wife Felicia, Carnegie, OK Tobey Stenger, Carnegie, OK great grandchildren, Stone Davis, Carnegie, OK Reese Davis and Naomi Eve Ziebell, Jackson, TN one brother, Randal Hancock and wife, Juanita, Yukon, OK one sister, Wilma Wood, Carnegie, OK one sister-in-law, Earlene Hancock, Corn, OK She was preceded in death by her parents, both spouses, brothers, Oveal, Hubert, Ben, Calvin, Virgil and Ermel, sisters, Lectra, Elna and Kathryn Funeral Services: 1:00p.m., Friday, December 07, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Carnegie, OK Burial: Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie
