© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma December 10, 1990 Lucy Mae [Staton] Sprabary Services for Lucy Mae Sprabary, 87, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Moore of Faith Gospel Tabernacle officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Carnegie, OK Cemetery. She died, Monday, in a Wichita Falls hospital. She was born Nov 9, 1903 in Collin County, TX and had lived in Wichita Falls since 1970. She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal. Survivors include two sons- James of Wichita Falls, and Joe of Heavener, OK; five daughters- Pauline Flowers and Betty Barker, both of Wichita Falls, Effie Lara of Bernalillo, NM, Viola Trussell of Decatur, AL, and Virginia Vickers of Fort Worth; two sisters- Nodie Holly and Ruby Mason, both of Manteca, CA; 36 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, February 5, 1936 Harry Sprabary Young Spraberry, 23-year-old Carnegie youth, was found dead on the Rock Island right-of- way near Colorado street late Sunday afternoon. Death was caused by acute alcoholism, according to the verdict of a coroner's jury, following an inquest conducted by W.R. Brown, peace justice. Funeral services were held at the Pitcher Funeral chapel Tuesday morning by Rev. G.C. Howard, Baptist minister, and interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery. The young man was born in Grapevine, Texas January 26, 1913 and was 23 years and 7 days of age at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Spraberry and several brothers and sisters. The family has lived in Carnegie since 1924. |
