© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 5, 1944 Bynam "Bill" Slimp Bill Slimp Dies At Place of Business Funeral services for Bill Slimp were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Pitcher Funeral Home chapel with Rev. C.N. Price of the Baptist church preaching the sermon. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery. Bearers were Cecil Dukes, Clyde Simpson, W.E. Noland, Lawrence Simpson, Rube Sells and Virgil Owens. Slimp, owner of Slimp's garage on West Main, died of a heart attack at 6:30 p.m. Thursday while at work at his place of business. Bynam "Bill" Slimp, was born at Gracemont Feb. 20, 1898. He had lived in and near Carnegie more than 40 years. He united with the Baptist church at the age of 14 years. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Josie Slimp; two sons, Virgle, at home, and Pfc. Leroy Slimp of Macon, Ga.; two daughters, Ruth Ann at home and Mrs. Garrett Graham of Carnegie; two sisters, Mrs. Tommie McClaine, El Reno, and Mrs. Lena Graham, Long Beach; one brother, John Slimp, Lawton and two grandchildren, Jo Ann and Jackie Don Graham. |
© Chickasha Express~Star Chickasha, Oklahoma January 15, 1990 Josie Nell [Williams] Slimp Chickasha-- Services for former Anadarko resident Josie Nell Slimp, 86, of Chickasha will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Alice Wendling of Chickasha officiating. Slimp was born March 13, 1903 in Shawnee and died Saturday in a Chickasha nursing home. she lived in Carnegie about 50 years before living in Anadarko for a number of years. She moved to Chickasha in 1959. She had worked as a laborer and in cafes and was a Baptist. She married Bill Slimp in Carnegie. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Minnie [Pinkston] Williams, and on sister. Survivors include one son, Billy Slimp of Chickasha; one daughter, Ruth Peppers of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Floyd Williams of Odessa, Texas and Otis and Lawrence Williams, both of California; two sisters, Eula Williams and Ollie Pennington, both of California; four grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Carnegie Cemetery. |
