Skinner, well known farmer of southeast of town, died in his sleep early Thursday night, November 13. He had worked in the field all day and was in his usual health. A heart attack was supposed to be the cause of his death. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Garland Howard at the First Baptist church with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Jesse Ernest Skinner was born at Wyatt, July 31, 1896. He was married to Miss Minnie Gorham at Hobart September 12, 1917. To this union were born four children, two boys and two girls. He was united with the First Baptist church in Carnegie in 1933. Survivors other than his wife, include his four children, Mrs. Edna Mae White of Sudan, Texas; Mrs. Velma Lee Plaster of Lanrcaster, Calif., and Eldon and Roy D. of the home address; three brothers, Lura of Cache, Bill of Lindsay, and Leon of Phoenix, Ariz; two sisters, Mrs Rubie Martin of Bryson, Texas; Mrs. Vera McGuire of Shawnee; an uncle and aunt, Mrs. and Mrs. W.C. Cooper of Carnegie, and other relatives and a host of friends. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 13, 2010 Lorene [Williams] Skinner August 15, 1915 ~ January 5, 2010 Funeral services for Lorene Skinner, 94, were held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Carnegie Church of the Nazarene, Carnegie with Rev. Chip Perkins officiating. She was born on August 15, 1915 in Bertram, Texas to W.E. and Mary [Nance] Williams and died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital. Lorene moved from Texas with her parents to the Alden Community at an early age. She attended Alden Schools. Lorene married Alvin Skinner on July 3, 1935 in Anadarko. She has been a long time member of the Church of the Nazarene in Carnegie, where she taught Sunday School and has been a board member. She was a great prayer warrior. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alvin on October 29, 1991; three sisters and their husbands, Velma and Bob Stubblefield, Zelia and Glen Stringer, Beatrice and Jay English; one brother, Lee Williams; sons-in-law, Buddy Trimble, and Wayne Maddox; a special sister-in-law Melba Schmidt; and a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Moore. Survivors include four daughters, Retha Maddox of Claremore, Sherriell Trimble of Bethany, Beverly Richardson and husband, Billy, San Antonio, Texas and Bonnie Brewster and husband, Kevin of Carnegie; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Melba Williams of Colorado Springs, Loneta Skinner of Carnegie and Wanda Startz and husband, Eldridge, Amarillo, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews. Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the directions of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home of Carnegie. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma March 9, 2005 Jerry Ray Skinner February 25, 1941 ~ March 6, 2005 Jerry Ray Skinner, 64, long time Carnegie resident, passed from this life on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born to Melvin Lee and LeNora [Schmidt] Skinner on February 25, 1941 in Carnegie, OK. Jerry attended school at Mountain View. He was united in marriage to Else Albino, on May 6, 1997 in the Philippines, from this union was born one son. He had four sons from a previous marriage. He was a farmer and did custom harvesting. He and his sons ran Skinner Brothers Harvesting for many years. Jerry enjoyed raising goats and being in the outdoors. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. View Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Else, of the home; five sons, Raylon Jay of the home, Dodai Skinner, and wife Michelle, of Verden, OK, Darin Skinner of Carnegie, OK, Deland Skinner of Carnegie, OK, Dale Skinner, and wife Melody, of Lewistown, MT; one stepdaughter, Christy Thompson of Elgin, OK; 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis Skinner, and wife Sandy, of Carnegie, OK, Gaylon Skinner, and wife Karen, of Colony, OK; one sister-in-law, Shirley Skinner of Carnegie, OK; and one stepsister, Marisa Skinner of Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and LeNora Skinner and one brother, Arden Lee Skinner. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Carnegie Cemetery or to the fund set up at The Farmers Bank, Carnegie, OK. Services will be Wednesday, March 9th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Carnegie. Burial is to follow at the Carnegie Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma March 1, 2006 Gaylon Von Skinner May 8, 1945 ~ February 25, 2006 Funeral services for Gaylon Von Skinner, 60, of Weatherford were held Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Carnegie with Dr. Arthur Blount and Rev. Chip Perkins officiating. Gaylon was born May 8, 1945 to Melvin and Lenora [Schmidt] Skinner in Carnegie and died Saturday, February 25, 2006 in Weatherford. He grew up and attended school in Carnegie. He became a hair stylist and was widely known for his skill. He married Karen LeFever on July 10, 1976 in Anadarko. He was a member of the first Baptist church in Carnegie. After moving to Weatherford he attended the First Baptist Church and continued styling hair until his health forced him to give it up. He enjoyed fishing, golf and yard work and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Karen of the home in Weatherford; one daughter, Lori Skinner of Tulsa; two sons, Bryan Skinner and wife Sage of Weatherford and Cody Skinner of Weatherford; one stepdaughter, Sherry McNelly of Weatherford; one brother, Dennis Skinner and wife, Sandy of Carnegie; five grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Arden Skinner and Jerry Ray Skinner. Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, October 16, 2013 Sandra Kay [Pitt] Skinner October 13, 1946 ~ October 12, 2013 Sandra Kay Pitt Skinner was born October 13, 1946, to Vernon and Geri Tyler Pitt and died October 12, 2013 at the age of 66 at her home in Carnegie following a courageous battle with cancer. Sandy moved with her family to California at an early age. She lived in California for ten years, then returned to Carnegie in 1962, where she lived and raised her family. She married Dennis Skinner on March 21, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sandy worked at Carnegie Hat and Boot for several years and then went to work for 3M Company until her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carnegie. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband: Dennis Skinner of the home, One Daughter: Shandell Sears and friend Mike Davis of Austin, Texas; Two Step-Daughters: Jana Brannon and husband Jeremy of Edmond and Julie Jackson and husband Sammy of Kingfisher. Six Grandchildren: Haley Harrison, Sydney Sears, Jillian Brannon, Tanner Jackson and Kaden Jackson; One Great Grandchild: Brayden Harrison One Brother: Bob Pitt of Carnegie; Two Sisters: Carolyn Bryant and husband Dwayne of Carnegie and Mary Ewalt and husband Jim of Carnegie, numerous nieces and nephews Special friends: Phyllis Schmidt, Maida Tyler and Patty Reynolds. Graveside services were held on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 1:30pm at the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home with Dr. Arthur Blount officiating. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 26, 1949 Kathryn Louise Skinner August 11, 1948 ~ January 23, 1949 Services Monday For Kathryn Louise Skinner Services were at 3 p.m. Monday in the Baptist church for Kathryn Louise, 5-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billie Skinner. The little child died Sunday at 7 p.m. after being ill about three weeks. Rev. Chas. P.D. Mann conducted the service assisted by Rev. Frank Elkins. Burial was in the Carnegie cemetery with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge. Kathryn Louise was born August 11, 1948. Besides her parents, she is survived by a sister, Judy Lynn, age 2; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Avery Stevens, and W. C. Skinner and many other relatives. |

She was born November 3, 1963 to Herman and Margaret [McGuire] Ryans, in Stockton, CA. She attended Fort Cobb school, and went to Caddo-Kiowa Vocational Center where she attained her license as a LPN. Regina was united in marriage to Darin Skinner on April 11, 2012, in Anadarko, OK. Regina worked at the Carnegie Nursing Home, Corn Nursing Home and her current job at Clinton Veterans Center in Clinton, OK. Survivors include her husband, Darin Skinner, Fort Cobb, OK, four step-sons, Derrick Lee Skinner, Carnegie, OK, Dillon Skinner and wife, Madison, Carnegie, OK, Dace Skinner, Carnegie, OK, Denton Skinner, Carnegie, OK, step-grandchildren, Destiny Skinner, Andrea Skinner, Tyler Skinner, Drake Skinner and Bentley Skinner, one sister, Barbara Ryans Hervey, Union City, OK, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service: 11:00a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Church of the Nazarene, Carnegie, OK. Burial will follow at the Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, OK under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home. Regina Gayle Skinner was pronounced dead at the scene on Oklahoma 58, about 86 feet south of Caddo County Road 1250, shortly after 4 p.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Skinner died from massive internal trunk injuries. Skinner was driving her car southbound on Oklahoma 58 and a northbound pickup driven by James Brian Brooks, 32, Weatherford, approached when, for an unknown reason, the car went left of center and struck the truck head on, Trooper Corey Comer said. Skinner was pinned inside her vehicle approximately two hours and 12 minutes before being freed by Carnegie firefighters, Comer said. |
