Joseph Ralph Sheffield

J.R. Sheffield Dies Thursday; Services At Pitcher Chapel

Funeral services for J.R. Sheffield were held in the Pitcher Funeral Home Sunday afternoon by Rev. C.N. Price with burial in the Carnegie cemetery.

Joseph Ralph Sheffield was born at Robertsville, Mo., June 27, 1869, and died Aug. 17 at the age of 75 years and 2 months.

He was married to Mary Ann Channey April 17, 1895, and to this union eleven children were born, all of whom survive.

He was united with the Baptist church when 25 years old. He made his home in Missouri until coming to Oklahoma about 35 years ago.

Survivors include his widow of the home, five sons, Logan, Ralph and Roy of St. Lois, Mo., and Henry and Harry of Yakimo, Wash., and six daughters, Mrs. Stella Andrews and Mrs. Edna Peek of St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Nellie Charles and Mrs. Mabel Hill of Salinas, Calif.; Mrs. Bessie Brumley of Fairbough, Calif., and Mrs. Bertie Blair of Yakimo, Wash.
