© Alva Review-Courier Alva, Oklahoma April 7, 2009 March 29, 1919 ~ April 5, 2009 Ray & Martha's Funeral Home: Roberta Pitcher, 90, long time Carnegie resident passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital. She was born March 29, 1919 in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Lee and Alice [Dieball] Bowser. Roberta married Clyde E. A Barney Pitcher at Carnegie, Oklahoma in 1943 and he preceded her in death, 1989. She was a charter member of the Carnegie Mother's Club and a member of the Carnegie Golf Club. Robert was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, The Open Door Class, for many years. She and her husband Clyde were in the funeral business in Carnegie for many years. Survivors include four daughters: Jan Doster and husband, Danny, Carnegie; Marsha Dean and husband Bill, Katy, TX ; Rhonda Cook and husband, Mike, Alva; Shelly Thomas, Elk City. Grandchildren: Shane Horton, Blake and Lori Horton, Whitney and Ryan Hattier, Murray and Josie Dean, Natalie and Michael Christian, Madison and Ryan Merrill; Five great-grandchildren: Skylar Horton, Karissa Riley, Kendi Horton, Hayden and Hannah Hattier, a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. E. Barney Pitcher, son-in-law Ralph Horton, 3 sisters and l brother. Services will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church, Carnegie. Burial will be in the Carnegie Cemetery, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK. |
