© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 2010 Joseph Edward Furtado 1931 ~ 2010 CARNEGIE - Funeral Mass for Joseph Edward Furtado, 78, Carnegie, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Richard's Catholic Church, Carnegie. Mr. Furtado died Saturday, January 16, 2010, in a Carnegie hospital. A Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Richard's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Carnegie Cemetery under direction of Ray & Matha's Funeral Home, Carnegie. He was born October 23, 1931, in Providence, R.I., to Joseph Furtado and Mary Theresa Farias Pacheco. He married Marilyn Dietrich and she preceded him in death in 1978. Joseph came to Carnegie in 1963, where he opened his dental practice, and has been active in dentistry until the present. He married Patricia Akina on June 17, 1989, in Carnegie. Joseph was an active member of St. Richard's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Furtado, of the home; three sons and a daughter-in-law: Joseph Furtado Jr., Inyokern, Calif.; Nathan Furtado, Pittsburg, Pa.; and James and Hollie Furtado, Jacksonville, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Mike Costillo, Binger; and four grandchildren.
