© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 29, 1964 Warner Thomas Furlong 1880 ~ 1964 Funeral Services For W.T. Furlong Are Held Monday W.T. Furlong, retired businessman and resident of Carnegie the past 47 years, died Friday night in the Carnegie hospital where he had been a patient for a week. He had suffered a stroke the previous Friday. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. Elson Hargrove, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the local cemetery. Warner Thomas Furlong was born September 17, 1880, at Glasgow, Ky., to John and Lillian Furlong. He was married September 26, 1928, at Cordell to Cora Lanier of Kinston, N.C. One daughter, Mary Lillian, was born to them. Furlong was in the drycleaning business on West Main for many years. Ill health caused his retirement in 1956. He served on the Town Board 14 years and was a member of the IOOF and Rebekah lodges. He is survived by his wife of the home at 101 North Broadway; the daughter, Mrs. Joe Maguire of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, John and Beverly Maguire; one brother, E.B. Furlong of Red Oak, Texas; one niece, Phonsine Medlin, San Antonio, and two great-nephews, David and Edwin Medlin. Warner Thomas Furlong September 17, 1880 ~ April 24, 1964 |
